Just adding more info to Bastiaen guide. So read that guide and supplement it with this. Basileus also added more good info in another solution.
Here's a list of all renovations, their general areas, material cost and income adjustment.

New York (13 renovations need 230 metal, 300 wood, 1090 stone, 790 cloth)
    *** Spoiler - click to reveal ***

River Valley (15 renovations need 180 metal, 285 wood, 750 stone, 550 cloth)
    *** Spoiler - click to reveal ***

North Atlantic (11 renovations need 180 metal, 280 wood, 630 stone, 390 cloth)
    *** Spoiler - click to reveal ***

So on top of all the materials needed to upgrade your ship, here's the total needed to renovate every structure in the game:
    590 metal, 865 wood, 2470 stone, 1730 cloth

R06U3great information, but the last two items listed as "King's Farm" are actually "East Village". not sure if any others are mislabeled.

The above guides are all great but you may find that like me you had been doing the odd renovation here and there during the story and can't remember which ones you have done. No need to go to each island on the off chance you haven't renovated because you can check your progress in the game.

Press start, Progress Tracker, now scroll nearly all the way across to the right and you will see renovations. It will tell you what percentage you have completed and if you click on it, it will tell you how many renovations are in each location and whether or not you have completed them.

But as was mentioned in one of the other guides renovations will not show up in some locations until forts and HQs have been neutralised so you may wanna go after those first.

GriffinMunkiGlad to have helped. I spent a lot of time looking for renovations before I realised this so I thought that others would like to know this to save time. :)
