Start up Crossroads and select River as your world type. From here, your choice doesn't matter so much, but if possible, you want the land around your village to be fairly flat.

Choose Scarlett as your hero. Ideally, she should be somewhat leveled, at least enough to get the charged attack. Difficulty is set to Easy.

I find Goblins easier to deal with, but fielder's choice on the attackers. Run away while charging your shot, and fire when the reticle around the enemy is charged. You don't have to turn and face them either. What they attack and what to retrieve doesn't matter.

You'll want to go to the Ransacked Village. If you don't get that option, keep randomizing until you do. When placing the village, place it away from the teleporter. When asked to create a path, make it as straight as possible before connecting to the teleporter.

If you placed your village close enough, there will be no more goblins to fight until you reach the village. Spawn two guards, the minimum, then select the boss as Crate of Rabid Squirrels. Again, if you don't see that option, randomize until you do.

When you regain control, use the caltrops to put them between you and the crate. Move forward, then immediately dodge backwards when they pop out. Run back towards the path, charging a shot and firing backwards at the mob. If your path isn't flat, jump and fire. Eventually, the mob will disappear and respawn back at the village. Go back , get them to follow you, charge your shots, repeat.

Once it's done, open the chest, return it to the questgiver, and the exit portal will appear.
