How to unlock the Life Story achievement

    To unlock this achievement, go to the "Playlist" tab and press cn_down or cn_A and scroll to the end right and pick the tab that says "Cross Game".
    From here you want to choose "The Master Chief Saga" playlist and choose to accept the options (unless you want to turn on time and scoring which works towards par time and par score achievements).
    Another thing you should note is that these don't have to be completed in one sitting so you don't need to worry about that as there is a resume option whenever you want to leave and do Somthing else. Also the campaign is set to normal difficulty and can't be changed just as the skulls are set to 0 and can't be equipped which means skulls like infinite ammo can't be used in this playlist.

    masterelliot994Me and a friend completed this mostly in Co-Op. The only exception was making sure to complete the last level of each campaign solo to make sure we could watch the cutscenes at the end of the current campaign and the start of each new campaign. We also completed the first level of each campaign solo.

    The achievement took several minutes to pop after completing the final mission for each of us, so try not to panic too much.

    I'll remove this post if 343 decides to fix it.
    There have been warnings in some other games' guides sections so I thought this was appropriate to post here and could save a lot of frustration.
    I was all the way up to dawn in halo 4 and when i resumed later it booted me all the way back to the start of halo 1/CE.

    No I was not ignorant enough to start another cross game playlist, this is a known bug.
    Do not attempt this achievement until you're sure that 343 has fixed the issue or lets us resume on any level we haven't finished.

    vShockziFuck this achievement. 15+ hours to get 46/46 no achievement. No shot I’m wasting 15+ more hours just for a chance for it to unlock, worst shit I’ve ever seen in my entire life.

    Far too DieselStill broken 06/12/2023. I played it first time, got 44/46. Redid the entire playlist solo, no achievement. Says 46/46. Shameful.

    It is best to do The Master Chief Saga Playlist in Single Player as it's reported co-op may not track a level or opening cutscene correctly. Such level/cutscene includes The Maw in Combat Evolved as well as Halo 2's opening cutscene. Reported by Dingus McKah


    This achievement is earned by playing through the Master Chief Saga Playlist in the Cross Game Playlist category. The playlist takes you through every mission from Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4 on normal difficulty so if you're familiar with the games pretty well you can pretty much just run past everything or gun everything down as only a few parts in each game are tricky on Normal.

    My suggestion would be to work on this achievement first if you haven't started the Master Chief Collection yet. After completion of this playlist you'll earn this achievement along with the achievement for completing a Cross Game Playlist.

    If this IS the very first thing you do you'll also earn all the story related achievement and all the achievements for completing each campaign on Easy and Normal as well as any other miscellaneous achievements. While going through Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 make sure to change the graphics each mission to see each level in original and remastered graphics.

    While going for this achievement I had already completed each mission on Legendary so I didn't earn many achievements through this; however, I did earn a few Par Time and Par Score achievements so along with the normal story achievements you could earn a good chunk of the achievements as well as any other level specific achievements.

    Dingus McKahCrims0nScorpion has a great solution and if I might add to his solution I started the Saga in co-op and the achievement didn't pop for me because The Maw and the cutscene for Halo 2 opening didn't count. I was told those couldn't be done in co-op so to avoid this bug make sure you do those solo or just do everything solo. Unfortunately I have to restart the Saga again so hopefully whoever hasn't done this yet reads this before attempting.

    Topsy Kretts 18Just wanted to add my experience with this achievement. I did this playlist in single player over the course of about a week and a half, playing a few levels each night. I turned scoring on and I skipped all of the cut scenes. I even played a few levels during this time (outside of the playlist) in co-op to mop up some of the par scores. When I started these co-op levels it warned me that my progress would be overwritten. But, it didn't affect my progress on the Master Chief playlist. So, not sure if I just got lucky with it unlocking on my 1st playthrough or what.
