Assuming you want to grind this after the campaign, the best place to do it is to load up Midnight, Rally Point Bravo. You'll fight through a couple of rooms and down a shaft. (These rooms are some great places to get Watcher kills.) Eventually you'll go through some portals into a room with a lot of Covenant weaponry.

Grab the Gravity Hammer and the Incineration Cannon. You should get a checkpoint either here or just through the portal.

During this next section, there are about 6 Knights, 1-2 Watchers and a bunch of crawlers. I found the following path to be the most efficient to take out the Knights.

Once through the portal, there's a Knight directly in front of you. Hit him with the Hammer. Then run up the ramp to the right and look off in the distance down a few platforms. You'll see a Watcher move up from a Knight. If you can shoot that Knight fast enough with the Cannon, it'll take both of them out and save you some work.

Jump down. There are two Knights on this platform, and about 3 on the one below that. Go crazy with the Hammer and take everyone down. Then, either when you kill everything or die, restart the checkpoint. Rinse, repeat.

This is also a great place to earn a few others as well, especially Chief, Smash if you don't have it already...you're almost guaranteed to get it without even trying. The medals will also pile up as you get multikills.

EggBigotPretty sure that if you let the Watcher resurrect the Knights you will get extra kills that will count towards the achievement!

YinI'm having fantastic luck with this method! I'd recommend that everyone also give the Scattershot a try; you can take out each Knight with a single shot (save the higher tier one which requires two). You can run through the room killing stuff at further range than the Hammer allows, without the need for the lengthy reloads with the Incineration Cannon. If that doesn't work for you, the solution's recommendation works just as well! Thanks!

WulfTekI will say, if you intend to slowly chip away at the MCC, whilst I am working through Legendary Spartan Ops missions there's a LOT of Prometheans, so before grinding this out consider working through Spartan Ops first.

Edit: I gained a few hundred kills on both Watchers and Knights, and probably over 1000 Crawlers.

Taking a leaf out of Sasha’s guide, I also used the campaign mission Midnight and had the level start at Rally Point Bravo. Once you’ve worked your way through a series of rooms and portals you’ll eventually end up in a room with a Gravity Hammer, BR, Carbine and the Incineration Cannon. If you’re anything like me and want to get this achievement out the way quickly, grab yourself the Incineration Cannon and enter the portal which opens up in the room. A second or two after entering this portal a checkpoint will be awarded. Simply blast the Knight in front of you and reload checkpoint.

I was getting around 12-15 Knight kills per 60 seconds and got around 280 downs in 20 minutes. I also found this achievement more bearable using the snap features for visible progression.

UPDATE: If you're having difficulty getting the checkpoint to trigger after the portal, it is because your letting your character stand still. When entering the armory room, make sure you continuously jump / melee until you're through the next portal. Once through, stop and a checkpoint will be awarded. Thanks goes to Bond 007 for finding this out.

    Here’s a short video I recorded:

T00 ExhaustedDavis 888's method works perfectly, don't bother killing shit in the crawler room or the room before the armoury and continuously jump/melee, enter portal stop and BAM! Checkpoint.

I thought the other solutions here were good, but the best way I found netted 11 Knight kills every ~90 seconds or so, letting me grind from 50% to unlock in a maybe a couple hours.

Easy difficulty, Infinity, checkpoint Charlie. Rush through for a bit until you enter the Mantis (past the section with the tank/hunters). You'll know you're at the spot when you, a) get in the Mantis, and b) Cortana says, "The path to the maintenance causeway is jammed".

You should get a checkpoint as you're jumping into that Mantis. Then just proceed through the door and down the hallways, killing a total of 11 Knights, and reload the checkpoint. The first Knights spawn in a group of 2, then 2, 1, 2, 2, and 2. After those last 2 reload the last checkpoint to avoid getting a new one - my checkpoint was literally as I was getting in the Mantis so it made grinding very easy.

Furr E NutsThis solution isn't working as explained to get about 11 knights. From what I'm seeing there is a CP after taking out the first 4 knights in the first hallway and hallway to the right. After this if you move down the hallway to the right towards the next area, in the middle of this hallway pops a check point. However you can still collect about 6-7 knights in the last section and restart the CP here and grind the 6-7 knights or you can restart the CP where you get in the mantis if you don't go down the middle right hallway. If you don't kill the Watcher, and if you kill the knight closest to the Watcher while he's close, it will re-spawn one or two additional Knights and thats it. Kinda slow doing it this way however do able.

While most people don't like Spartan Ops, I found that episode 5 chapter 1 on heroic had lots (and I mean lots) of Knights, Crawlers and Watchers, with the crawlers taking up only a small portion of those kills. I would tell you the exact numbers but I can't find how to view my previous game stats for Spartan Ops. :(

On Normal difficulty I killed 45 knights through the murdering everything method and so I did not keep to one wave before the objective expired. However I still did not hit the button until enemies stopped spawning. You could probably get more by ignoring watchers who are trying to ressurect dead knights as you get to kill the knight again upon it respawning!

However there are easily at least thirty watchers and fifty knights while playing on heroic. Just as a note, it it probably worthwhile to go for the "No Easy Way Out" achivement at the same time as there are about five to six more waves of enemies after being told to hit the third button after defending the objectives.
Halo: The Master Chief CollectionNo Easy Way OutThe No Easy Way Out achievement in Halo: The Master Chief Collection worth 59 pointsHalo 4: Survive Spartan Miller (Ep.5 Ch.1) of Spartan Ops on Heroic or Legendary.

Since you do have to defend two objectives it may be easier to keep a couple enemies alive from the first wave until the defend icons go away and then start killing everything as the objective is time based not wave base, thus ensuring you can't lose the mission because the devices are destroyed as explained in LostMantella9 solution for that achivement.

By using this level you should also be able to make considerable progess towards:
Halo: The Master Chief CollectionRemove the Bishops From the BoardThe Remove the Bishops From the Board achievement in Halo: The Master Chief Collection worth 78 pointsKill 1000 Watchers.

Halo: The Master Chief CollectionDogcatcherThe Dogcatcher achievement in Halo: The Master Chief Collection worth 37 pointsKill 1000 Crawlers.

I say considerable progess because it can become very boring very easily. Good Luck!

It seems that most of the other solutions are saying the same thing.

A good and alternative method is to load up the Spartan Ops mission 9-3 "Science Mountain". You will be given Scorpion Tanks and so it will take 1 shot to kill a Knight. At the end of this short mission there will appear a lot of them. The other positive thing about this method is that there will be a lot of Watchers there too, so you can farm those simultaneously. Set the difficulty to easy and your Tank will be indestructible, so your only focus is to kill, never dodging.

    The numbers:
    - average mission time: 13 minutes
    - average Knights per game: 15 (although I was getting more by letting some be revived by Watchers)
    - average Watchers per game: 30

If you opt to give this a try and it ends up working for you as well, you're welcome to leave a thumbs up and a comment.

Midnight, rally point bravo, easy difficulty. get through the first section and make sure to pick up a scattershot from one of the knights before you drop down the gravity well. At the bottom of the well cortana opens up a portal and a checkpoint unlocks as you step through. This will be your money checkpoint, as there are 4 knights here with 2 watchers. as the first two knights spot you they will spawn 2 more watchers and then after you slay those two knights go up the small ramp and kill the other two knights. by the time you kill the 3rd and 4th the watchers should have respawned the first two, making for 5 and 6. then head back up the ramp and kill 7 and 8 that should have respawned by then. rinse and repeat and before you know it you've killed 1000 knights!

p.s. its important to let the first two knights spawn their own personal watchers, it seems like the first two watchers that are there wont actually revive the knights.

Other solutions work, but why waste time reloading and chasing down the other knights?

As mentioned, Midnight, Rally Point Bravo. Progress until you pick up the Incineration Cannon and keep it equipped as you go through the portal. Make sure you get the first checkpoint and shoot at the first knight.

Then hit Start and Reload Last Checkpoint. No need to waste time reloading your gun or running after knights. You'll be facing the knight every time. Fire, reload. Fire, reload.

I was killing 16 knights on average every 60 seconds. About a knight every 4 seconds. Yes, it's a lot of B.S. dealing with the menu, but you'll get into a rhythm.

i personally found doing spartan ops ep 5 ch 1 (spartan miller) pretty good way to grind. you can set it to easy. and there are a bunch of op weapons on the field like shottys. i noticed after each run i go up 3 or so % each time for this and the watchers achievement. also if you let the watchers revive the knights you can rack up even more kills
