I'm going to leave a video link at the bottom to my speed run of world 1, which is under 3 minutes. Whilst I don't expect you to emulate this, it will give you an idea of where time can be saved and certain techniques you may not be familiar with. A video however, will only tell you so much, so I'm going to give you some advice to help expedite the process.

You cannot expect to instantly be good at this game, you will have to learn patterns, controls and the nuances of the game. If you have a few hours spare and are willing to take on board the advice I have to offer, it should make this achievement much more manageable.

Let's start with the controls, which some of you may dismiss as being garbage. Whilst I appreciate the sentiment, I think there is a big difference between unresponsive controls and controls that are hard to master. In this case it's the latter, I've never once died and thought that the controls were partially to blame. If you cannot comprehend what it is I am saying to you, then you're going to have a tough time.

First of all you're going to want to pause the game, go to options, settings, and enable the following 3 options:

The first option will allow you to switch the camera view from close to distant at will by pressing cn_LT Which is helpful when trying to learn levels. The other two options will help avoid execution errors, such as throwing a spear after a double jump when you intended to use your sword. It's also worth mentioning that you can turn off vibration if it bothers you by going to options, controls, and then disable the option:

The biggest learning curve in this game will come with the jumping. You are committed to your jump, which essentially means that once you have jumped you cannot alter the jump arc. You do however have a second jump which is independent of the first one. So you can for example jump to the left on the first jump then jump to the right on the second jump. You can also alter the jump arc with the timing of the second jump. Double jumping to the left by mashing the cn_A button will yield a very different jump arc than that of a slow and considered second jump. With practice, the controls allow for a great deal of precision, and although mastering them would be a huge time investment, you only need to be somewhat comfortable with them to earn this achievement.

Think about what it is that you're doing and you will get better. Jumping to the left or right and then releasing the direction means that when you jump again you will neutral jump dead on the spot, this allows for a precision landing. The realization of things like that will give you a solid foundation for improvement. A final note on the jumping aspect is that when you double jump, the second jump is also an attack, and if you hold down whilst in the air you will do damage to whatever you land on.

You also have a roll in this game cn_RT Rolling is quicker than walking, when you finish a roll there is an animation that stops you from moving. This can be negated by jumping, attacking with your sword, or by throwing a spear. Whilst it takes practice to get a handle on this, it is a significant time saver and should be used at your own discretion, as it's not required to beat the 4 minute mark. Rolling can allow you to bypass certain enemies entirely, again with practice. Rolling over a powerup as a means of collecting it allows you to skip the animation of picking it up. Finally the roll can be used to gain extra distance when jumping off of a ledge, this makes certain jumps possible that otherwise are not. If you roll off of a ledge you can then use your double jump, too early and it will have been pointless rolling, too late and the roll will count as your first jump. Practice Practice!

I'm now going to talk about powerups. Whenever you open a chest you will gain the next power up, unless you already have them all in which case you will be given loot or warrior spirits. The order of the powerups is as follows; wooden shield, hammer shield, helmet, flame sword. If you get hit whilst you have the helmet and/or flame sword, you will lose them. If you get hit whilst holding either shield you will lose them, and become 1 hit away from death. Here's what the powerups actually do:

Wooden shield: Can block 2 attacks, after the second it will be destroyed.

Hammer shield: Is required for using charged spear attacks. It can block attacks indefinitely. Remember that you cannot block an attack whilst also attacking. In order for the shield to block an attack it has to actually hit the shield, not just the side of your body that the shield is on. Finally some attacks are unblockable.

Helmet: Increases attack speed.

Flame sword: Doubles the swords damage output. Also enlarges the offensive hit box, essentially giving you extended attack range, and the opportunity to hit certain enemies whilst standing instead of crouching.

Mjolnir's Power:

This powerup has nothing to do with chest powerups. It is always found hidden inside breakable terrain. When damaged whilst in possession of Mjolnir's Power, you will keep all of your other powerups and if in mid air, you will regain the ability to jump if you had already used it. Also you will send a high damage burst of energy in all directions.

The following will outline the damage output of your attacks and the health of the enemies in world 1, as well as some general info. For the sake of simplicity I will refer to both damage output and health as hit points, HP for short.

Sword: 1HP

Flame sword: 2HP

Spear: 1HP

Spear (fully charged) : 3HP

Lizardmen: These guys come in 3 flavours, red, blue, and green. They will try to club you to death and failing that will start jumping around. Their attacks can be avoided by crouching. The only noteworthy difference between them is HP.
Green: 1HP
Blue: 2HP
Red: 3HP

Wasp: 1HP
They will stay stationary for the most part, only moving slightly to the left and right. When you are near them for more than a second they will become agitated, and start flying in a circle.

Spider: 1HP
Will do absolutely nothing until you get within a certain range, at which point they will jump at you.

Snake: 1HP
Always moving. They will do a lunging bite when they get close.

Flower...? Thing: 5HP
Incapable of moving, when you get near them they will shoot 4 projectiles in to the air. They are a significant annoyance and it will take practice to deal with them efficiently. It's often best to deliver death from afar with the spear when possible. Their projectile can be blocked with the shield.

Lizard King (BOSS) : HP is irrelevant
In the video I show you what I believe is the safest way of jumping and throwing the spears whilst still killing him in one phase. Just follow the video exactly, and after some practice, and providing you don't lose the flame sword, and this encounter will be trivial.

Like I said, you cannot just instantly attempt a speed run, get comfortable with the level. Pick and choose what parts of the video you think will help you, and develop your own safer techniques where needed. That, along with this wall of text should help you on your way to a time of 3:5(insert number here) with as little frustration as possible, relative to attempting an achievement like this.

It's also worth noting that when you get to the section with the 2 flower enemies (1:37 in the video), after killing the second flower, there is a Mjolnir Powerup hidden in the terrain below it, simply jump where the flower was and hold down. Obtaining this powerup will only cost you around 2 seconds of time and will allow you to bypass an upcoming tricky section of your choosing, such as the next time you encounter a flower enemy.
