How to unlock the Caretaker Of Memory achievement

    The Lost Letters are the blue envelope icons on the map.

    There are just enough Lost Letters to complete this achievement before unlocking the North part of the map.

    Due to the relatively "remote" locations of the letters, I would recommend that you use the Buzzer (the single-seat helicopter) to get around the map.

    In most cases, using the Buzzer is faster than Fast Traveling as you will still have to walk on foot in order to get to the Lost Letters and a lot of the letters are located towards the top of mountains. The Buzzer allows you to basically skip over having to climb the mountains.

    Most all of the Lost Letters are located within caves so keep that in mind when looking around for them. If you see a Question Mark next to the envelope icon on the map, chances are that the Question Mark is a cave location you haven't discovered yet and the letter is inside that cave.

    Upon collecting your 10th Lost Letter, the achievement will unlock.

    You can track how many Lost Letters you've collected by checking the "Progress" tab in the menu.

    Mr GranstaffWhich maps would help out with this achievement? I just skimmed through the choices, but they all seem fairly terse with their descriptions, so didn't want to waste money on a map I didn't need.

    BangFlashedI’ve just got 10 and the achievement didn’t pop for me. Tried hard resetting and still hasn’t worked. If anyone has any advice on how to get it to pop please let me know. I’ll keep this comment up to date if anything happens

    Update 07/04/23 - after collecting the 10 and it not popping, I decided to power cycle my console (the thing where you have to hold the power button for 10 seconds) and uninstall/reinstall the game. The achievement still didn’t pop but, after playing the game and finding an 11th letter the achievement popped. I was also playing on Series X. Hopefully you don’t run into this issue but, if you do, try what I’ve detailed above and hopefully it pops :)

    PompsyMcPompAnyone have trouble unlocking this? I think I found 11 and it still hasn’t popped..

    These are collectibles shown on the map by a blue envelope icon. Ideally you should purchase the collectible maps from a trading post to make this much easier.

    The collectibles are found in backpacks. To find the exact location set a waypoint on the envelope icon. There are a total of 20 to find, but only 10 is required for the achievement.
