How to unlock the Rebounds individual record achievement

There are 4 main ways to get this achievement. Take whichever you like, but I'll put them in order of which ones are the hardest to the easiest. Also, you can mix and match for your best strategy. For all of these strategies, though, make sure that the quarter length are 12 minutes and make sure the difficulty is set to "Rookie".

    1) Do this achievement legitimately. **Note: This will take forever.**

    2) Create a character who is 7'4" and put him on which ever team that you're going to be playing. He should be able to rebound almost every shot that the opponent's team tries for.

    3) Make sure that the team that you're playing has terrible Free Throw accuracy (modify it yourself if you have to). Also, make sure that the foul frequency is turned up that that you can foul your opponent every chance that you can get and that the fouls til ejection is set to 0 so that no players can be fouled out. Every time that there is a defensive foul against the computer, they'll be able to Free Throw but they should miss the last shot every time. Your players should be able to rebound after that. Just keep fouling, and you'll get it.

    4) You'll need at least one wireless controller for this one. There's a glitch in the game that you can exploit. Start a 2-player game (one user on each team) with the profile of the person trying to get this achievement being the rebounder [now being called "P1"] and the other controller being the shooting team [now being called "P2"]. Whenever P1 has the ball, make sure that P2 steals it away and shoots in the worst possible position. Whenever P2 has the ball, make sure that P2 takes shots very often.

Here's the most important part of the glitch in the game. Make sure that P1's team has one of their players with 56 rebounds (you should have the 30 team rebounds for "Defensive Rebounds galore" by this point). When you're sure that there's enough, remove the battery from the controller of P2. The team selection screen should pop up with only P1's controller lit up and on their selected team while P2 is now dulled and in the middle. Press "A" to continue. There will be a note that says "Warning: Switching now will cause you to lose any progress you've made towards an achievement so far. Continue?" Just ignore it and continue. Pause again and go to "Quit Game" and "Rematch". When the tip-off starts, the achievement will unlock.

I know that you might be thinking "Android, it says in a solo game vs. the CPU, that can't possibly work. You're retarded!" But that's how I got the achievement and that's how I suggest you get it, otherwise this achievement will eat up your days trying to get it. If it doesn't unlock at the tip-off, just try again. I PROMISE that this works although I can't tell you why it works.

SAINTofSINSThe fourth technique should work for practically all vs CPU labeled achievements, though I didn't chance it not working by simply playing out the entire length of the game and hitting rematch after the post-game wrap-up. If hitting "Quit" and "Rematch" didn't work, try again but just play out the game all the way through with P2 unplugged prior to the end of the game.

I'd add another solution to this, but Android did a wonderful job of giving you multiple options to do this, the only thing I'd add is one other technique not mentioned:
    - Have your tallest player (center, power forward, and maybe small forward pending on the team) simply run the gambit of grabbing down your own rebounds after failing to hit your own three point lay-up.

What I did was, with a team filled with tall players (Yao Ming, Dirk Nowitzki, Rasheed Wallace, Kevin Garnett, and Jermain O'Neal) taking on a team filled with the shortest point guards and shooting guards available (Damon Stoudamire is the only one I can remember off the top of my head and stands in at about 5'8" if I'm not completely mistaken). Noticing that even with the User sliders maxed out to give my team a huge benefit for offensive rebounds, and even editing the team's rebound stats prior to starting the game, often times my players would stand still while the Loli-pop guild would box them out and grab down some defensive rebounds. Instead, I opted to start ripping down my own offensive rebounds by having one player try for a lay-up beyond the 3-point line and using his forward momentum towards the bucket, run and jump to grab down his own rebounds. Rinse and repeat and you should get this before the second half if playing 12 minute quarters. Your only issue will be the possibility of the ball sinking for points, rimming away from your rebounder, or the odd box out from two or three defenders looking to grab down the ball courtesy of the AI having grown board of you missing 12 straight shots and grabbing down your own rebounds.

What's more, doing this you can even set yourself up to tag down any of the Double achievements (Double-Double, Triple-Double, and Quadruple-Double).

So there, a fifth technique should anyone still have trouble - though not as easy as Android's noted fourth technique.

Well, i'd like to add another way to this achievement, which is the one i used: leverage overtime! Adjust User/CPU ratings and play on Rookie so that you can score whenever you want. Before the end of the fourth quarter, if you haven't grabbed 56 rebounds with any of your player, make the score tied and you will enter a 5-min OT. OT number is unlimited, so you can play the match forever until the achievement unlocks.

I found this way pretty easy and this is how I got the achievement.

Create 15 players with a height of 5'4" (the minimum height). Everything else does not matter. Now put 8 of those created players on a team of your choice and release the players that are actually on the real team. You will now have an 8 man team, every player's name will be Created Player, and their height is 5'4". Now edit all these player's free throw ability to 1. (For some reason putting it on 0 made them make more shots than they miss.)

Now pick a team you would like to use. As before, release the actual roster, and put the other 7 guys you created earlier on your team. Lastly, create one more player for your team and make him the maximum height, which is 7'6". Edit his abilities for rebounding, vertical, etc.

Now start a game on rookie, 12 minute quarters. TURN FOUL LIMIT OFF. This way no players can be ejected for too many fouls. Keep intentionally fouling until they shoot free throws. Use your 7 footer to grab all the rebounds, rinse, and repeat.

I got all 56 rebounds at about 9:00 left in the second quarter. Comment if you have any questions!!!
