Currently the Hardest achievement in the game because all LASO's are currently bugged and making them too easy.
EDIT: According to
Rey27 : Save/Quit method is patched. You can only save/quit once per level now. (sorry everyone who still needs this...)
To clarify something that some people don't understand is that this can be mixed times for Co-op and Solo! The trick is if you do any missions in Co-op you must also do it in Solo, meaning to get this achievement you must FINISH every mission Solo. If your best time is in Co-op and you don't need to attempt a better time in Solo then put the scarab skull on and finish the mission.
The Heretic and Armory must be completed on legendary to unlock the achievement (no enemies). Thanks for reminding me
Twobby!
All credit for videos goes to Nak3d Eli, if it weren't for him I wouldn't have this achievement!
How to check your times:Halo Waypoint has your Co-op and Solo Times:
https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-usWhen you are on your profile (make sure to sign up or login) click the blue box that says "View Service record" that will drop down and you click "Halo The Master Chief Collection". Your times will be under "Campaign Completion Per Game" Just make sure to use the boxes to change campaign and Solo or Co-op.
You can also check the leaderboards on Halo TMCC for Par times, if they don't load then the time didn't count (they take a little while to load so give it a sec at first).
To tell your overall time you can go to this site and input your times, it will add up to your overall time in TMCC:
http://www.unitarium.com/time-calculator (This is what I used to calculate my times)
SAVE/QUIT METHODNote: You won't get in trouble for doing this method from 343 but its possible they will patch this or a patch could make it not work. On the same note, its possible a patch could make the save/quit method work better or always work.
To do the Save/quit method you pause your game in a mission and Save/Quit. Then once your back on the menu RESUME the mission and it will go back to the beginning of the checkpoint without any deaths, and resetting the time when you first hit the checkpoint.
The Save/quit method will work as long as you don't quit out on the last checkpoint. If you do it wrong it will set the mission time at 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Also Note: You cannot do the save/quit method in Co-op, I do not know if it works split screen.
Having problems? A possible solution (Thanks to
Hurricane Matt) heres what he said:
I figured it out, and it is something that might be useful to your guide. It turns out that the any checkpoint in the final area of a level counts as a "final checkpoint". Since I was saving and quitting during the flood battle at the end of Sacred Icon, I was voiding the achievement since once you reach that area you never leave for the rest of the mission, but continue to get checkpoints.
I ended up just saving and quitting throughout the level up until the final area and then played that normally and the time stuck on the leaderboards.
Tips:
1)Do 1 mission a day if you are getting too stressed out on 1 mission because if you become too stressed you will play worse, sometimes a break can make you play much better with a clear mind.
2) I recommend Solo over Co-op for the fact that if your partner dies, you die too, most people do Co-op i'm sure but using these videos will be less effective or impossible on Co-op.
3) Do all missions before trying to make amazing times on each one, if you have an estimation on how much time you need to decrease you can set goals to decrease your times. Every time I finished a mission I would use notepad to make a list of all my current times and how much I can decrease it, make an overall time and a time that shows how low you can go. Then when you are finished and you need about say 5:66 less, choose your missions with the biggest estimation that you can drop (my biggest times were 10 minutes I could improve it by)
4) You can always try different things, if the method on the videos aren't working for you, then try your own that is possible. You don't have to do as good as every speed run in the video, all the times together are way below 3 hours. You can save yourself some time doing it regularly than exactly what is done in the video.
5) Check other speed run videos out. Some are different methods than others, these videos are basically the newest current methods put together but it can be surprising when you find something else new slightly easier and either saving you time, not losing time, or sacrificing little time.
6) When watching the videos make sure to watch a good bit of it before attempting it, sometimes you will miss something or Eli will say it a bit later.
7) I put difficulty on each mission on the ones that were definitely the most struggling, if any jumps are done in the mission or tricks, practice should be done before hand. There are a multitude of ways to practice, its up to you.
8) Never give up
9) Believe

Missions:CAIRO STATION:Difficulty: 7/10
My time: 16:55 (solo, without/save quit method) (10:20 Co-op)
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***This mission is straightforward to follow the video, the parts where you can save the most time is when you are battling. When using the plasma pistol and BR with practice will be needed. Practicing the jumps can come in handy too which can be practiced on easy if you want.
Outskirts Difficulty: 4/10
My time: 5:38 (solo, without save/quit method)
*** Spoiler - click to reveal *** The skulls are comepletely uneeded for this level, follow this video down to the bone and you will get a hell of a low time like I did, this is very luck based, since its a fast run through you can keep starting from the beginning and trying again, possibility of finishing it in 4-5 minutes minimum.
Metropolis Difficulty 9/10
My time: 17:32 (solo, without save/quit method) (9:33 Co-op)
*** Spoiler - click to reveal *** I used the entire video except for the ending grenade part, if you are able to do it you will get a hell of a better time then myself. Everyone who can't do the grenade jump you can kill all the enemies on the scarab using plasma/BR method, its just more difficult.
When I did this part in Co-op do note that the grenade jump was not performed, so this could have been done even faster.
A tip from gamer Rknb117:
Just want to add that in Naked Eli's Metropolis video above, if you can't do the grenade jumps, you can turn on the sputnik skull to help, just throw the first grenade in the corner of the pool instead and do the rest as Eli does.
You want to get early scarab, as the trigger for the scarab pilots to spawn is at the bottom of the ramp where Eli hides, all but impossible to get to and get back to the front of the scarab on Legendary doing the normal catwalk method.
The Arbiter Difficulty: 6/10
My time: 5:36 (solo, With save/quit method)
*** Spoiler - click to reveal *** This mission is actually easy and can be easily done a few tries, I had to restart a few times but in the end got a good time I am proud of. Make sure to watch a good part of the video before doing what he does, setting yourself up on the checkpoints is everything in this mission. If you have a bad enough checkpoint don't save/quit, just restart the mission. You can waste more time if you have a horrible checkpoint trying to save yourself then restarting from beginning and setting yourself up better then last time.
The Oracle Difficulty: 6/10 (Half the mission is a breeze, the other half, not so much)
My time: 19:10 (solo first attempt, afterwards did save/quit method obtaining a time of 16:10, didn't save, possibly because I already did it on Legendary)
*** Spoiler - click to reveal *** This mission... THIS MISSION! You guys will love this mission, I have never enjoyed a speed run on legendary until this mission! Peoples biggest fears turned to ash! Follow the video as he does it as best you can it can be difficult sometimes but once you get to the invincible glitch, the rest of the mission is a cake walk, litterly.
Something to be careful of is at the end boss, using your grenades can glitch him if you use them at the wrong time. It gave me a checkpoint right when I messed up, making the mission impossible to finish due to him being invincible.
Delta Halo Difficulty: 9/10
Time: 7:13 (solo, with save/quit method and sacrificing 2-3 minutes of alternative safer methods)
*** Spoiler - click to reveal *** Nak3d Eli's video is a great example how to do this map and can get it done as low as 4 minutes! I for one thought it was great until I attempted the ghost grenade jump. Instead of wasting my time perfecting that I found a round-about method that you don't have to use the ghost grenade method, you have to sacrifice a little bit more time doing so because it takes 1-2 minutes of walking to get to the ghost he goes into abandoning his first ghost. For people who cannot do the ghost grenade jump this is great, if you want to not lose those measly 1-2 minutes and are not going for world record or leaderboards then doing my method will save you OVERALL life time (learning the ghost grenade trick). Follow my video below and you can see how I did it! (start at 45 seconds, tried editing the video but it wouldn't upload...).
http://xboxclips.com/Le+Lone+Wolf/12267e5b-54ed-4623-8765-c4...
When I got to the part at 2:13 I sat here for a good amount of time. Since I continually died over and over I decided to change my method because the fast driving wasn't good enough, even if I had just 1 ghost I still seemed to die. So if anyone has problems at this spot too, get out and use rockets to kill any ghosts following you from behind, then shoot any rockets left at the turrets or if the other ghosts came out, fire at them. doing this method I gained 2 extra checkpoints finishing my first try sacrificing another 30 seconds to a minute.
After getting past that part the rest of the mission is a breeze. Just be careful when trying to back into the sniper jungle, I had a checkpoint when a sniper was shooting at me and nearly killing me.
Regret:Difficulty: 10/10
Time: 25:57 (solo, without save/quit method)
*** Spoiler - click to reveal *** In my personal opinion this is the 2nd hardest mission in the game, the beginning and the ending has to do with luck over anything.
Doing the God respawn is extremely hard but from my experience to get the God respawn is killing all the enemies extremely fast when you are spawning the snipers and elites. Killing all of them with grenades is NEEDED to get the God respawn, if anything you have seconds to turn and snipe any survivors if they are even in view or if you have health to even look at them without dying. Eli believed to get the God respawn you had to do this before the Music Cued but I did it even when the Music Cued so the music has nothing to do with it.
I got a good time until I reached the ending. Using Eli's method for the ending is more luck based than anything, the only skill is avoiding enemies and killing any if necessarry. Where the prophet teleports is not the same everytime, so if he goes in a bad spot you could die or lose time. In the end when I got 25 minutes I decided it was good enough and never went back due to hating the mission so much.
Sacred Icon Difficulty: 5/10
Time: 13:18 (Solo using the save/quit method)
*** Spoiler - click to reveal *** This mission is not much of a challenge because of invisibility, makes life so much better when aliens that want to kill you cannot see you (even though it is for a short while). I didn't really have too many problems, follow the video to the bone and you should be fine.
Quarantine Zone Difficulty: 7/10
Time:9:40 (solo, without save/quit method)
*** Spoiler - click to reveal *** Back when I was doing all par scores at 25,000 I basically had to do this method with almost all the skulls on, and killing all the flood at the end. I spent about 2-3 hours doing this until I got basically lucky doing all the parts. I wish I did the save/quit method im sure its much easier using that. Also that there is a awesome glitch at the end where you basically get to chill on the lift and not fight the flood, I did this the hard way....
Gravemind Difficulty: 10/10 (Hardest mission in the game by far)
Time: 26 minutes (didn't count because save/quit on final checkpoint, 36:43 Co-op)
*** Spoiler - click to reveal *** As long as you don't mess up by Saving/quitting on the final checkpoint this is Do-able, BUT it will be pain and missery all the way through, definitely recommend this one last so you can have a estimated time goal to obtaining your achievement.
The beginning depsawn isn't so difficult, running past enemies are just basically luck, the hard part is any fighting you must do.
Expect your overall time to be at least 2 hours of saving/quitting, that's how long it took me. Also don't save/quit every time you die otherwise you will waste more time then you save, going through the entire mission without dying is nearly impossible. To prevent myself from burning all my time I save/quitted after 3-5 attempts depending how long the checkpoint was.
Do EXACTLY as ELI does it in the video, most likely it'll be a waiting game until you get lucky. Remember this: Eli does everything for a reason.
The ending is the scariest, when you get into the final room watch the whole video until Eli finishes the mission, theres a glitch I didn't do at the end that makes it 10x easier. Being unable to save/quit at this point to prevent from losing all your hard work your going to have to try your best. If you mess up at the end your going to have to Return to checkpoint until you finish, and if you mess the glitch up Eli does and a checkpoint happens, you have to get past invisible elites with a sword elite. They are extremely nasty if you don't get the brutes to distract them.
How did I get past the ending after messing it up and not doing the glitch? I ran around the little room after the door opened, then once I saw an opening and they weren't looking at me.....
I ran for my life, and made it. (sadly for nothing because it didn't count)
I wish everyone the best of luck when it comes to doing this mission!
Uprising:Difficulty: 2/10
Time: 3:47 (solo without save/quit method)
*** Spoiler - click to reveal *** This mission is another awesome and amazing speed run as you get to skip about 35% of the mission! Doing the speed run you should easily get under 5 minutes on the first try and if you want you can shrink it a bit, but in the end doing the nice glitch at the end will save you A TON of time!
High Charity Difficulty: 4/10
Time: 9:32 (solo without save/quit method)
*** Spoiler - click to reveal *** This mission is not too bad to run through and can take some time on a couple of parts, but I say once you get past the first 20 seconds of the video the rest is somewhat of a breeze. If you get away with the save/quit method you can get a really short time too!
Great Journey Difficulty: 7/10
Time: 16:25 (solo with-out save/quit glitch, attempted save/quit but it didn't work 2 times trying it getting a time of 11 minutes)
*** Spoiler - click to reveal *** Note: Last checkpoint is right after the cutscene and your standing in front of the brutes.
This mission has some of the best glitches and de-spawns in Halo 2 and can be fun to do when you know what you are doing. The hardest part to me is the jump across the gap, Eli uses a ghost through-out the mission but I died too many times while on the ghost and went with cloaking past the brutes. If you are new to this mission the ghost might be for you, but I had more experience on foot. The jump you need to perform is extremely tricky and I kept messing up over and over, and when attempting that skip in the beginning (2nd room with brutes in it) can send you back a bit of time if you mess up....
After that part everything is much easier, I lost 2 minutes on this mission when I got 16:25 because Sgt Johnson wasn't cloning so I had to go back to last checkpoint. Just my luck.... But overall the trick with Sgt Johnson makes the ending much more fun and easy. If you do this mission Co-op you and your friend can bring 2 banshees in with you, 1 person killing the chieftain while the other kills the spawning brutes. Having banshees is fun, but having cloned Sgt Johnsons is better!
If you have any questions for me or anything I can add to my guide comment or message me, there is always room in this guide for more to help others get this achievement and help/tips is always great!
Everyone good luck and have fun!
Final video: I think you guys will enjoy this video, don't worry as you won't have to deal with it since you skip the snipers on this mission. (Video was done by Verumictus)
