How to unlock the Into the future achievement

  • Deranged AsylumDeranged Asylum
    10 Dec 2014 10 Dec 2014 10 Dec 2014
In order to get this Achievement you will need to complete the following Challenges.

    - Score 75000
    - Collect All 5 Red Skulls
    - Destroy The Vases (50)
    - Kill 4 Scarabs With A Single Bomb
    - Finish In Under 7 Minutes
    - Do Not Touch The Timebomb

These do not have to be done in 1 go but you need to finish for the Challenge to count.
For the 75000 you may need a Co-Op partner because obtaining 75000 by yourself is very hard. If you find someone to boost it with just make sure they don't get any kills or pick up the gems.

    G Smith007:
Just done all these challenges and no achievement, so it's glitched. 2020. I wanted to finish this but seems impossible to get now.
When making comments like these it would really be nice if you went back & edited it once you actually get the achievement not only to tell people that it's not glitched, at least not to extend that both of you didn't end up unlocking it shortly after but more importantly any updates might help others, like how did you end up getting it, judging by the short amount of time between the comments & the time stamp on the achievement I'm guessing that neither of you had to do them all over again but that's just guessing which is why a comment after you found out what you'd done wrong or what you had to do to fix it if it was an ingame thing would be really helpful 🙂
Oh & please don't take this the wrong way, I can't say for sure that I would've remembered to go back & do that myself so not a warning to you guys more a message to everyone, myself included that updating comments like these after you find the fix will go a long way 😀

I've created a two-part 100% walkthrough video. It covers every single achievement in the game except the co-op ones and the speedruns, but the co-op are self-explanatory and the speedruns are super easy once you've played a level, since you can usually just run past everything and solve the puzzles most of the time. Contrary to some reports, you CAN get the gold points challenge on EVERY tomb on your first time through in solo play. Follow along with the video below as you play through the game (and part 2) to have your 1k in 8-10 hours tops. A detailed text guide follows after the time stamps for those that prefer it, copied over from the walkthrough I've written for this game.

This achievement is for completing all the Tomb of the Timekeeper challenges.

    Timestamps:
    00:07 - Pyramid of Osiris
13:32 - Tomb of the Timekeeper
    22:08 - Challenge Tomb #1
25:00 - Tomb of the Silversmith
35:42 - Challenge Tomb #2 (west/southwest from Tomb of the Silversmith)
    37:55 - Khepri's Tomb
    42:52 - Oracle of Osiris
    46:50 - Challenge Tomb #3
49:50 - Tomb of the Ferryman
    1:02:22 - Challenge Tomb #4

Challenges: Bronze/Silver/Gold – 75,000pts; Complete in under 7:00; Collect 5 Red Skulls; Kill 4 scarabs with a single bomb, Destroy Vases in the tomb, Complete the tomb without grabbing any time bombs

Play through your first time focusing on all challenges. Remember to restart the last checkpoint if you lose your multiplier. From the start, go down the ramp and around the corner to the left to find Red Skull #1/5. Use the grappling point with cn_RB and swing to get it. Continue on until you have to move the first time bomb to the breakable wall. When moving these bombs, you can grab them with cn_B or just place your own bombs with cn_Y and detonate them. Make sure to do the latter. DO NOT grab any of the time bombs, ever. Also, make sure to press cn_down to take out the staff and hold cn_LT the ENTIRE TIME you’re moving the time bomb around with bombs of your own to slow down their fuse, otherwise they will blow up too soon.

This first one is easy, so practice your bomb skills moving it down to the lower level and release cn_LT when it’s near the wall to break it open and continue. You’ll cross a bridge and have to pull a piston out of the wall to lower some spikes. Further along the path, you’ll reach the next time bomb. Use your own bombs to knock it up over the ledge that the piston is on near it (don’t waste time pulling the piston to drop the two sets of spikes). Remember to hold cn_LT to slow it down, and use your bombs to blow it over to the first set of spikes you past. Go up the ramp to the right and drop down to the first piston. Pull it to drop the spikes and allow the bomb to roll down, then keep using your bombs to knock the time bomb up the next set of stairs and over to the breakable wall.

On the other side of the wall, rotate the piston to raise three wooden platforms. Jump across, and when you see the grappling point, use it to lower yourself down to Red Skull #2/5 CAREFULLY. Gain momentum swinging before releasing to reach the far side of the pit. When you reach the far side, head left first and up the ramp where the spiked balls came down to find Red Skull #3/5. Head to the right now and a short scene will show, after which tons of scarabs will show up. Place a bomb on the ground and lure them across before detonating it to get the 4 scarab kill challenge done. Pull the piston below to drop the spikes by the weapon above.

Quickly stand on the blue square, hold cn_LT to raise it, and jump over to grab the weapon and hit the switch to drop the spikes on the right. You’ll have to grapple across another spike pit to the right, but be sure to swing left first and grab Red Skull #4/5 by standing to the far left on the lower wall before grappling up with cn_RB. Continue into the next large room and circle up and around to the right to get down to where the next time bomb is. Press the switch on the ledge above, then use your bombs while holding cn_LT to knock it up and move it to the left around the pit in the center, then up the stairs to the breakable wall.

In the next room you’ll have to act quickly shoot the eye on the left wall to raise the wooden platform by where the time bombs are coming out, then use cn_LT to move the blue piston to push it down, then use your bombs to push it over to the breakable wall before the bridge falls out from under you. Once the wall breaks you’ll have to run up a long set of stairs, dodging falling boulders. Partway up, look for Read Skull #5/5 on a pillar and jump onto it from above, then run to the exit.

After the cut scene, you’ll be in the treasure room and will have the opportunity to open treasure chests ranging from 100gems to 1000gems to unlock. Assuming you have 100 gems (which you should easily have by now), go ahead and unlock at least one chest for the What’s in the box achievement if you haven’t done it already in the hub world. You’ll get Time keeps on ticking for finishing this tomb the first time.

EverStoned77I was like "why does this have as many downvotes as upvotes" until I realized that although being an absolute perfect video walkthrough, one that it is very clear you have put a lot of work into, but it lacks the speedruns so given that this is the exact thing needed for this achievement I think that's why some may downvote, I however would never downvote because of small stuff like that & knowing just how much work you have put in to this I can't do anything else but upvote 🙂👍
Also while you might not do the speedruns in the video, you do say that those are the easiest part because you simply just have to avoid the enemies &, whenever possible, simply run past them so don't really see why more info than that is needed, though I found myself wondering how to go back & do the speedrun after finishing all other challenges... guessing maybe you'll have to finish the game before you can start the individual levels again or are there another way..?
Edit: Ok so to answer my own question, yes you have to finish the game to go back a do the speedrun of "Pyramid of Osiris" all other can be done from the ?Hub World? (Whatever the main world is called) ... I did however struggle with "Apep" in "Tomb of the Silversmith" not the challenge to beat him/her within 3:30 but the beat level in under 6:00 mostly because you have to be a bit lucky with those round glow targets since they can spawn in way that takes longer time to set up & when you reload the checkpoint it also resets the balls & you have to do them all again, needless to say that if you have to move all the balls in to place several times you simply won't make it yet the moronic game design means you are still forced to finish the level before you can start it again facepalm

LifeExpectancyThanks for the feedback!I'm not too fussed with the downvotes. I kinda expected it but wanted the vid in all the achievements' solutions to reach a wide audience so those that need it find it. toast

EverStoned77Nah, people downvote for the most silly things, like when people can't figure out how to do what the guide say & despite the guide working for everyone else they still assume that it's the guide that's wrong & not them roll hell I have seen a reviewer that seemed to be almost hunted by a few that always downvoted, so much so that he stopped writing reviews altogether so just ignoring the haters is definitely the right approach, I rarely ever downvote & on the few occasions where it has been bad enough to get one I always leave a comment where I do my best to explain why which sometimes have ended in a correction that have made me change my vote smile after all that's the least you can do to show a little respect for the time the author used on their guide/review wave
