  I tried to use a helicopter as much as possible, whenever possible.

  I did this last night using the Achievement Hunter map, and thought I went through them all, but I ended up with 49/50. I went through again to make sure I had actually got them, and I realized after I got down to downtown Lost Santos I hadn't scrolled down far enough on my computer and the one at the airport had been cut off. I felt so stupid lol

  Here is a link to a great map for collectibles. You can also use the rockstar social club to track all the collectibles and see exact locations of ones you haven't found yet. I used it for 360 version and will be using it for the xbone version.
  Update: Just completed on Xbone. The mapped linked above has video for each item that it very usefull. The rockstar social club updates to reflect what you have found and are still missing. Both make these collection achievements very easy.

  By far the hardest spaceship part to pick up is the one under the bridge. I've seen people attempt to take it by parachuting down on the struts or janking themselves over there by over the bridge, but they all looked unnecessarily hard. Fortunately for you all, I found a very easy way to get that piece!
  
  First, get a helicopter. The respawning one that Trevor has is the easiest to access, however there are earlier helicopters if you want, there are guides out there for them.
  
  Second, get to the bridge.
  
  Third, carefully park yourself so the left pontoon of the helicopter is touching the strut with the spaceship part. Exit the helicopter, which will fall down into the river. Who cares? GTA vehicles are disposable!
  
  Fourth, pick up the piece. Trevor will be stuck there with nothing to do... and that also doesn't matter. Switch to another character and eventually Trevor will respawn somewhere else. No need to bother with suicide and paying hospital fees!
