P.S. I have 3 stars on 9/10 stages (including the boss stage) and 2 stars on 1/10 stages (the King stage).

UPDATE: I finally got 3 stars on stage 4 (King Maker) and unlocked the achievement.

Geometry Wars 3 COOP "Solo" Guide
It's possible to beat each COOP mission 'solo' and most actually aren't that difficult. If you're good, it doesn't even take that long. It took be 3 days playing 2 hours a day. A lot of that time was spent experimenting with a few of the harder missions. I believe that you don't have to be an expert to solo these missions. Some will require luck though so don't get discouraged. I didn't really go for a high score and moved on the the next one after I got a 3 star. So this guide likely won't help you if you're looking to maximize your scores.

Let me know if there's a particular mission you want more details on.

COOP Mission #1: Chaos

This was surprisingly difficult to 3 star. The issue is that there's not enough time to get a high multiplier and there's not enough enemies to get that multiplier. The name of the game is the get the next wave to spawn as fast as you can. Getting geoms is still important but you need as many of the later waves as you can squeezed into this minute and a half mission. Enter the rubberbanded automated second player. Have it aim straight down the map to help you clear the mission. Expect this to go down the wire even if you don't die. If you die reset unless you're at the end and just need a tiny bit more score. Consider the dummy turrent's line of fire a defacto safe zone. Run over it to collect the geoms that will inevitably accumulate.

In retrospect, if you get the green super state that collects geoms, you might want to use up your smart bombs in the next few waves to immediately get to the next wave and amass the geoms instantly. I didn't do this in the video but I learned how valuable it was to do in the later missions.

COOP Mission #2: Red Rock

Not too difficult at all. I got it in my first try. The second controller just went to the top right corner and drew half the enemies there. I'm not sure if it helped or hurt the score though but it was easy doing that.

COOP Mission #3: Enclosed

Not hard at all. Try to always kill the pink seeker enemies. They spawn one at a time. 20 seconds into the video one of these pink seekers kills the second controller bot and I restart. Focus on these guys in every mission. They give a lot of multiplier.

COOP Mission #4: Kingmaker

Likely the hardest one for most people. Don't get discouraged. This is luck. If you get enough safe zones to spawn close enough to each other in the final stretch, you win. If not, you lose. Some things you can do to stack the odds though. First get as many geoms as you can early on. Second try to use errant safe zones by corners by themselves early on. If you can't get to them they're useless so use them up early when you have the freedom to choose. It also forces you to crisscross the map which results in more geoms. Once the action really starts a lot of your choices are out of your hands. Clear a path to a safe zone and get to it when feasible between 'waves'. Try to start on an outer safe zone by the edge if you can and work your way in to maximize the real estate available to you. If you start in the center when things get hectic and are forced work your way outwards, you can find yourself in a dead end. I included a failed run to show that I don't think I did anything too wrong in that run but I was just unlucky.

COOP Mission #5: Destruction Destruction

Not hard. Typicaly Deadline strategy. The longer ones are much easier since you can build bigger multipliers. The first COOP stage is hard because there's not enough time to build a sufficiently high multiplier. This one has a lot of time. Just don't die and play it safe. Consider the dummy's line of fire as a de facto safe zone that also is littered with geoms for you.

COOP Mission #6: Aliens

Easy mission so long as you know to get multipliers. Wait by a mine for a pink seeker to spawn. Touch to mine so you kill as many of the seekers as possible and collect geoms. I only needed 6 waves to get 3 stars. Not hard at all.

COOP Mission #7: No Way Out

Can be difficult. Position your turret in the upper left corner shooting towards the lower right. This has a big advantage of herding green squares to either side for quick while protecting your dummy turret.

One of those missions where you need to get into a certain zone. My next piece of advice will sound weird. Don't aim straight at enemies. Just shoot in a solid straight line and move that firing line left or right. This lets you cover a bigger area without letting enemies get past your line of fire which happens often if you fire into different directions. Ideally you cover an area once so it's empty.

The pink squares might be your hardest wave to beat unscathed. Try your best to make it to a wall. The wall is your friend. It keeps one flank secure. Travel along a wall firing diagonally in front of you. I play a lot of Geo Wars and I just take this on faith now. You'll usually survive because you'll take out and pink square in front of you and any looping smaller squares that spawn can only go to the same side you're firing. Check 1:47 in the video for an example. Either way, sometimes you're in a bad location so a smart bomb can be required. If you can survive two pink square spawns you'll be able to get this achievement. I actually got a three star without the smart bomb so you can waste a smart bomb on a pink wave so you only need to survive one.

COOP Mission #8: Infect

No real tricks honestly. I wasn't efficient and was just winging it. You can get this on your first try.

COOP Mission #9: Bouncer

This can be challenging. Your goal is to get to the bigger waves as fast as you can. That's where you earn a lot of score assuming you make it with your multiplier intact. The first waves are time wasters since you need to kill each enemy to get the next wave and the waves themselves don't have a lot of enemies.

Position your dummy turret so it covers an entire side of the hexagon. I chose the top. Since all enemies travel in straight lines your turret is actually covering a significant portion of the map just by fire straight.

If you see a green super state, use a smart bomb right away. Then use up all your smart bombs to clear the next few waves and you'll automatically collect all the geoms so long as nothing is between you and the geoms. This gives you the benefit of not just acquiring a higher multiplier, you also clear out the earlier waves efficiently. I score so much higher each time I did this strategy.

COOP Mission #10: Garnet

I rubber banded a second controller so it would move to the upper left hand corner and shoot down to the lower right. The extra firepower is useful to beat the boss in time. You'll need to remember to protect your dummy until the later phases. Specifically, after the first wave, make sure your firing right at the second controller to keep it alive. A ring of yellow X's spawn right at the edge but if your fire is hitting it, it will be destroyed before it kills your second player. Also watch out for

Aside from that it's pretty straightforward if sometimes difficult. I got 3 stars without really trying to maximize for score. If that's an issue then stay closer to the boss in the last two waves so you can collect more geoms. You can also farm geoms in the final phase where the boss is stationary as it throws waves of blue diamonds at you too. Just let your turrent fire straight into them and fire away from the boss to just kill the diamonds. I beat it with time to spare so there's a lot of room for score maximization. I don't think a lot of that is necessary though if all you want is 3 stars for the other COOP achievement.
