Gurglewocky is the dragon-like Act 3 boss, found in level 3-11 "Gurglewocky".

First there is a platforming sequence where you escape Gurgy across a system of brick platforms. It's not that long and there are plenty of enemies you can dash into to keep your speed up. Don't forget you can dash right through the bricks! After several screen-lengths you'll reach the end and fall down a hole, picking up a shield in the process. Then it's time for the second and major phase of the boss fight.

The boss screen is a complicated setup, with the Gurglewocky facing the screen from the center. It has the following platforming elements:
Moving platforms at the bottom of the room. They come up on one side of the room, move across the screen, and lower down on the other side. They move left when you are punk Giana and right when you are cute Giana.
Vine lattices on each wall. You can grip them and slide down slowly. The one on the right is slightly higher.
Crumbling platforms in the center of the room. There are two sets on each side; like all such platforms, they reappear after about 10 seconds.
Fire everywhere. Avoid it! The fire is orange when you are cute Giana and blue when you are punk Giana.

I like to cling to the vines on the left side; they're lower down which gives you more time to react to falling fireballs, and you can dash between the moving platforms more easily from left to right.

Now I'll describe the Gurglewocky's attacks:

Tail Whip:
It's not very effective. Just get up high when you see him start to shake it and you'll easily be out of harm's way.

Fire Lake:
Gurgy sets the floor of the room on fire, forcing you to stay on the platforms in order to survive. After the boss has been hit, the fire does not recede and can even get higher, covering the moving platforms entirely.

Gurgy spits out a fireball up into the background, which splits into many and rains down from above. Stay away from the top of the screen and you'll have room to dodge. If the floor is on fire, a second wave of fireballs will then erupt up from the floor. Watch out for these.
Note: The fireball attack will quench the floor if it is on fire (and the boss has not yet been hit) or lower the level of the fire (if the boss has been hit twice and used his fire breath to raise it).

Gurgy spits out a larger fireball up into the background. Four larger fireballs will fall down into the screen; after they all land in the fire, laser beams shoot up from those points simultaneously. Don't mistake this attack for the previous one!
Note: the boss only does this attack after being hit once or twice.

Fiery Rock:
Gurgy looks like he has a hairball caught in his throat, then coughs up a flaming rock. The rock follows you around the screen, so you must constantly avoid it. This makes dodging his other attacks much more difficult. The color of the rock's fire does not change when you twist the dream world.

Sweeping Fire Breath:
Gurglewocky lets out a stream of fire that sweeps around the room. You must outrun it by jumping/moving clockwise or counter-clockwise around the boss's head (the direction depends on which side of the screen you are initially standing on). Get ready to move when you see him start this attack!

Defeating the boss
The Gurglewocky doesn't always do attacks in the same order, but it's generally the same. He will spew Fire Lake after getting hit and usually shoots Fireballs/Laserballs both before and after spitting the Fiery Rock.
In order to damage the Gurglewocky, you must let him spit the Fiery Rock at you; then, when he starts his Sweeping Fire Breath, twist so that the fire changes colors. When a blue-flaming rock hits his orange-flaming fire breath (or vice versa), the fire on the rock goes out. Jump on the rock and it will go into the boss's head and damage him. Do this three times to defeat the boss.

The achievement will not unlock at that time...
