Shorthanded mode is basically just the co-op mode for the game, only one controller is being used: you move each color of totems using the thumbsticks, while you make them jump with the bumpers. There are ten levels that need to be done and, thankfully, you just need to finish the levels; you won't need to stress yourself out and get a perfect ranking for everything. There are two ways to go about this achievement:

1.) Do it by yourself: I would only suggest this if you're a very patient person. Controlling both pairs of totems by yourself is a pretty mind-bending task and requires a lot of concentration and focus. It takes quite a while for your brain to get used to this (if it ever does), which can lead to unnecessary side effects such as headaches and broken controllers.

2.) Do it with a friend: If you don't have anyone else to play with locally, then you'll be stuck with the first option, especially since this game doesn't have online co-op. However, if you do, this is the much easier route to take. Just have each person take one side of the controller; that way, each person has their own totem pair to concentrate on and the process becomes much less confusing and time-consuming. Definitely the more recommended approach.
