For those who don't know, an Environmentalist medal is awarded for killing an enemy with a piece of the environment. The map that's gonna get you this achievement is Lockdown, which has 3 large hanging icicles, one located above each base, and one located above the center platform. By shooting these, they will fall and kill any thing they land on.

Your best opportunity to get these medals is at the beginning of a team game on Lockout. When you first spawn, shoot at the icicle hanging above the opposing team's spawn. There's a good chance you can get at least one Environmentalist medal by doing this.

You can also use the other two icicles, assuming they don't get shot down by others. Just wait until you see somebody walk underneath it (which is almost guaranteed to happen at some point in a game) and shoot the icicle above them.

In Assault games, the bomb carriers are more than likely to take the path that leads directly under a base's icicle, so if you're playing a game of assault, keep track of the enemy bomb carriers and try to get your timing right. The icicles will also respawn at the end of each round of Assault, so you can use this tactic more than once in a game.

King of the Hill and Oddball are also great games to get these medals in. At the start of a game, the hill/oddball will be in the dead center of the map, directly under the middle icicle. As the other players race towards the center of the map, time your shot at the icicle so that you can take out large groups of them. Also, if playing Oddball, after destroying the center icicle, try to get the ball and drop it directly under an icicle near one of the bases. The opposing players will likely go for it, and this would be a good time to take them out for the medal.

And of course, there's the boosting method. Get a couple friends together or set up a boosting session on TA. If you can, try to get teamed, slayer gametypes on Lockout. The reason you want it to be teamed, is because you can get the 4 members of the opposite team under an icicle, and get 4 Environmentalist medals as well as an Extermination, which'll count towards this achievement.

Halo: The Master Chief CollectionDominationThe Domination achievement in Halo: The Master Chief Collection worth 85 pointsEarn a total of 100 Legendary medals in matchmade games.

You'll need to do this 25 times to get the full 100 Environmentalist medals, and you can do it a maximum of 3 times per round. So, if you're playing a game with rounds, after all 3 icicles have been shot down, end the round by scoring.

The reason that slayer is preferred however, is because, not only will you get 12 Environmentalist medals, but you can also get a Perfection, an Unfrigginbelievable and a Steaktacular, each of which counts towards the Domination achievement. So using the boosting method, you should be able to make 12% progress on this achievement per game, and 15% progress on the Domination achievement (assuming you get the full 12 Exterminations in the game) If you are able to meet all these perks, you could likely get these two achievements in an hour or two. Then of course, get it for the other 7 members of the session.

But, if you'd like to focus strictly on this achievement and not on the Domination achievement as well, try to get One Bomb Assault on Lockout. After all 3 icicles are used to get your 12 Environmentalist medals, you can score the bomb, therefore ending the round, and the 3 icicles will respawn at the beginning of the next round. Since it's 4 rounds, you should be able to get 48 Environmentalist medals, almost half of what you need in total!

    I hope this helps. :)

Something I noticed with the other solutions on here so far is that they make it seem like the icicles on Lockdown are the ONLY way to get environmentalist medals. I would like to point out that, while they are the better way to get this achievement, they are NOT the only way. If you are able to kill someone with a fusion coil, this will net you an environmentalist medal as well. It is not the easiest way to get the medals, but if the opportunity presents itself, it can help get you to 100 medals a bit quicker.

    Rock and Coil Hit Back

Hello, this achievement would have to one of the easiest Achievements.

Now if you're going to boost this then you only have to do 2 GAMES PER PERSON TO GET THE ACHIEVEMENT what you want is to have 4 controllers each if you don't have 4 controllers just get people to fill up your game (a full team of 4 is better).

The game type you want to search for is "Halo Championship Series" now I would recommend doing the invite trick to get everyone in there. What friends and I did was the host invited the party and when he left one of the game roster the person said "you're gone" the host then counted to 5 secs and then searched. But sometimes you can only count up to 3 secs it depends on how quick you guys connect to each other. Now this method worked for us every time. (Saying this sometimes the host got disconnected how we fixed this was dashboard - quit the game and reload)

Now back to the achievement so after getting into a game with eachother the map you want is LOCKDOWN now it doesn't matter if it's Team king crazy hill or slayer they all work.
After getting the map LOCKDOWN whoever is shooting the ice needs to get on the side where you can see all 3 blocks of ice from here you're waiting for everyone to get underneath the ice so that should be 4 people underneath the ice. When they say there ready shoot the ice twice and it should drop if not keep shooting until it does.

Now you continue this for all 3 blocks of ice after the third ice block go back to the one you STARTED ON as THE ICE KEEPS RE-SPAWNING SO YOU CAN GET 52+ Environmentalist medals A GAME!

Extra info: Say you were on lockdown and it was slayer and you had 49 points (50 is the max) make sure everyone who is getting squashed is underneath the ice as you can get 3 extra medals.

Also make sure you don't die as you can get more Legendary medals :)

Perfection ~ Win a Slayer game without dying with 15 or more kills.

Steaktacular ~ Win a Slayer Game by 20 or more points.

    Unfrigginbelievable ~ A spree of 40 kills.

Extermination ~ Wipe out an enemy team with at least on overkill.

There could be more but I wasn't focusing on them
Halo: The Master Chief CollectionDominationThe Domination achievement in Halo: The Master Chief Collection worth 85 pointsEarn a total of 100 Legendary medals in matchmade games.

You can also get some Splatter medals while doing this. Only sometimes you get a splatter medal though not all the time!

With the match composer being added for social matchmaking, it's somewhat easier to get some of these game specific achievements.

Some of the other solutions can still work but I thought I'd offer what worked best for me in 2019:

All you need to do is pick the 12 player/FFA player count option, then choose H2A and Infection. There's only 4 maps in the rotation I believe: Lockdown, Shrine, Stonetown, and Warlock.

The only two maps where you'll be able to get the medal are on Lockdown or Stonetown. If you get one of the other maps, just quit out and try again. There are currently no quit penalties for Infection in MCC as of February\March 2019.

On Lockdown, you can get the medal using the large icicle chunks on the ceiling, or the forerunner fusion coils around the map. Personally I ended up getting the medal way more often using the fusion coils, since you can lead infected near them and shoot them, and since the infected are weak they always die if in the blast radius. The icicles can work too but if you miss they take awhile to respawn.

On Stonetown, you can do the same thing with the fusion coils. I found the best spot to be the where the sniper usually spawns in other game modes, on the right side of the map if you spawn at the base. There's ramps up to this spot and there are fusion coils on each side, so if infected come from either ramp you can shoot the fusion coil and get a kill or two. The fusion coils seem to respawn pretty fast on this map too.

And that's pretty much it. I managed to get this achievement done in a week of playing a couple hours a night. Just keep trying, some games you might only get 1-3 medals. The last game I played when I got the achievement, I got 14 medals in one match. Good luck!

    UPDATE from KeebyMK
This was a good solution, but as of December 2019, H2A Infection has removed Stonetown and replaced Lockdown with a version that has no icicles and way fewer fusion coils (only two individual sets), making this method much harder unfortunately.
It seems a Forge variant on Awash was added to the rotation as well but I'm not sure if it has any explosives or not.
