How to unlock the The Daughter of the Moon achievement

In order to get this achievement, you must complete the game while the moon is in full state in the real world.

There are a few moments where you see the moon in game, and it reflects the current state of the moon, for example, this image is what the game shows as I am writing this:

    External image

Said moments are: the main menu of the game (thanks, Ackter), the opening cinematic, the crack in the wall required for "The Shadow Of Doubt" achievement and the ending cinematic. For this achievement, you have to watch the ending cinematic while the moon is full.

So, you can do the achievement in two ways.

    - Use a lunar calendar (like this one: http://stardate.org/nightsky/moon ) and complete the final chapter on a day of full moon.

    - Disconnect your console from the internet and set your date and time to a day of full moon. For example, use March 5th, 2015, 00:15h. Complete the game while offline, and then reconnect. Wait a few minutes and the achievement will pop. Also, if you have all the other collectibles at the moment of finishing the game (except for one Boston Daily entry that requires finishing the game in a full moon day), you'll get the following achievements.

White NightAround the clockThe Around the clock achievement in White Night worth 149 pointsFinish the game on a full Moon day, read all the books and the articles from the Boston Daily News

White NightArchivistThe Archivist achievement in White Night worth 148 pointsUnlock all newspaper articles from the Boston Daily News

NOTE: If your console doesn't let you change time and date, you have to turn the console completely off (by holding power button for around ten seconds) and then turning it on while offline (ethernet cable must be disconnected, or if you automatically connect via wifi, you'll need to delete the wifi connection that you use, before restarting). When turning the console on while offline, it should let you change date and time.

SaahDrahcirSo I beat the entire game in one night on a full moon. I figured the next day I'd get the achievement for a date that's not a full moon. Nope. Didn't get the achievement until I tried again just now. Apparently you can get this achievement on "New Moons" and such, days just before and after a Full Moon. I tried for like three days after the Full Moon and I kept getting the Full Moon animation. So I guess this is a semi-confirmation that it doesn't have to be a textbook Full Moon in order to get this ending, just as close as possible if not the actual thing.

AaronWi60I completed the game 2 months ago on a half moon night and didn't get the full moon achievement.

Before I started my new game just now on a full moon, I tried to see if it would pop from my last save. I loaded up my finished game, did the slow walk end part to the grave and the cutscene played the full moon ending and I got the achievement. It's just a shame I missed a few texts and Boston Daily's otherwise I think I would have gotten the Around The Clock and Archivist achievements doing this too.

SERPENT SUICIDEI can confirm that if you compete the game on a non full moon day, then reply the last chapter on a full moon day the achievement will unlock. Just don't reset the game.

TheWelshHuntOk done it all, one thing that confused me though, i got the achievement for finsihign on full moon day with all collectibles but DIDNT pop this achievement just for finishing it on a full moon day, so if i wait til whenever it is and just redo the last bit of chapter 6 it should unlock right?

NodeadVickyThis game is way too buggy as it sounds. I played the game offline setting date/time as 4th March, 2015, 21:40) as suggested by the guide. Completed the whole game. Saw the full moon all over and the ending too
    *** Spoiler - click to reveal ***
. Seen the credits and relaunched the game on other date say 10th March and finished it seeing the other ending. Now I went online. Very few achievements popped and among them "Around the clock" (but not this achievement, how can this be possible) was one so I was excited. Not even the Chapter completion related achievements - strange!!! I restarted the game and finished the chapter 6 again and when it ended I got only "An Endless Night". Also none of the letter/book/notes achievement. So frustrating. On replaying chapter ---yes third time---, I read the last letter found here and "The Path of the Philosopher" unlocked.

I have to play this game AGAIN (as i don't like this game at all, very slow and can't skip cut scenes) to get all the achievements and I have to read at-least one note/book/letter to unlock the rest. Also I am planning for "The Daughter of the Moon" and "The Twelve Strokes of Midnight" as I am very close to actual full moon day and I will be online while doing this. Also I have to walk 10Km and do "Philumenist", once again. None of the other secret ach unlocked like the phone one or rope one. I carefully did all the requirement but no chevo :(.

So conclusion, I have to be online to get achievements....angry SO FRUSTRATING achievements.angry

Crimson DrifterLike some others, this one wont unlock for me doing the offline trick, but all the others did. I've tried different dates, slightly different times to no avail. It just wont pop.

I haven't left it on the title screen after reconnecting for more than 5 min, so maybe ill just let it sit for 15 min.

Other than that, guess ill just wait for a real time full moon.

Crimson DrifterWell, real time full moon worked. So, if this stuck for you, just wait for a real full moon day

The SCHWARTZ 00Can confirm it doesn't need to be exactly on a full moon day. I live in Florida and the next full moon wasn't until Saturday. I got the achievement on Thursday night. So you can definitely get it at least 48 hours prior.

Catatonic NaliI'm also here to confirm that the window for the full moon day is wildly generous. I've just done all of this over the past few days. The full moon was officially on the 24th, I finished the game and got the full moon achievement on the evening of the 23rd and I've been waiting more than 3 days to get the non-full moon ending. I've checked into the game every 12 hours since then and it's taken all the way until the morning of the 27th for the full moon during the final scene to deactivate. So at least in this case the window to get the full moon ending has lasted for at least 72 hours.

Anxiety29/08/2020 The offline trick works just fine. I managed to pop all 4 achievements. White Night, Daughter of the Moon, the Archivist and Around the Clock.
