  Yeti's can be found during the campaign DLC or in free roam:
  
  Free Roam
  1) I found 1-2 at this location: X:668.0 and Y:561.1
  2+3) "LiquidHotMAGMA9" found 2 additional spots for yeti at X: 745.0 Y: 367.0 and X: 725.5 Y: 388.0
  4) "mrzog69" found some at x:651 y:554.
  5) "AussieBigfoot" found some at X:66_ Y:54_
  
  Story
  I counted 11 total during the campaign playthrough.
  1) You will encounter a yeti later on in the DLC story when you are doing the objective to disable 3 generators. You will encounter him earlier in the DLC, but only get the chance to kill him once you are on your way to disabling the 3rd and final generator.
  2) I found 5 yeti during the Night defenses:
  1 during the 3rd on the 2nd assault wave.
  1 during the 4th on the 3rd assault wave.
  3 during the 5th during the 1st and 2nd assault waves.
  5) Several yetis will also appear at the end of the game when heading to the Temple Shrine to find the relic. I found 1 after gaining an oxygen mask, 1 at the entrance to the shrine, and 3 in the shrine.
  
  Killing a yeti
  Once you find a yeti, he attacks in 2 parts: 1) Charge at you and 2) Pound its fist at you (typically brute enemy type attacks). The game will also give a notification once you find your first yeti, to weaken it and then do a takedown on it. You will know when it is ready for the takedown because it will stop moving and just bend over with his hands covering his face. Once he is bending over, walk around to its back and then perform a takedown (with "RS") and then mash a random button (once I got "A" and then another I got "B") on the Yeti to finish it off and get 3,000XP. The yeti will not stay bent down for more than 5 seconds, so quickly move to its backside and initiate the takedown before he recovers.
  edit: AussieBigfoot stated in the comments that a yeti can be finished off without using a takedown by either 1) using 1 clip/mag of the standard MG42 (basic buzzsaw) or 2) explosive rounds/weapons
  
  Cumulative or not?
  This achievement does seem to be cumulative but only if you get a save or checkpoint after the kills because I think I killed 6-7 before it unlocked (I died while trying to grapple and it may not have kept 1-2 of my kills) so be warned.
  If you have played through the story and you do not have it, you can spam them at the free roam location I listed above. I found 1-2 yeti there every 5 minutes.
  It seemed to be cumulative but it may need to be done with 1 life, please comment below if others can confirm this, thanks!

  You don't need to perform a takedown on Yetis, 1 clip/mag of the standard MG42 (basic buzzsaw) will kill 1 yeti. Or as others have done, use explosive weapons. As for my hunting grounds I use the NE corner X:66x Y:54x

  @AussieBigfoot, thanks! That is very helpful! I usually charged towards the yeti when I saw he was down without realizing that you did not need to do the takedown. I was always worried that if I kept shooting the yeti (without killing him) that he would get back up.

  By far the strongest weapon in the game seems to be the signature AMR. It one shots Yetis before the last mission (takes 2 shots if not head shot during last mission). Here is a video I found showing the location of the AMR: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YyjJtU_4MBA

  A Yeti is the deadliest creature that I have seen in Far Cry yet. They have the strength of a few bears and I've seen a bear flee from one before. They are fast and nimble creatures. When going for this achievement I cannot stress the importance of looting animal skin/hide crates to craft better armor and syringe holsters. Make sure that your ammo and health items are stocked up before any and every yeti hunt. I've found that the Yeti typically spawn on the North side of the map at the top (there will be a wolf logo on the map). I've killed a Yeti in this area and immediately another would spawn not far from it. Try to surprise it by climbing on a nearby rock and then start shooting it to get its attention. Keep crouched as it will start throwing rocks at you. Simply keep shooting at its head with a strong assault weapon (an AK47 as an example) and throw a few molotovs at it. You can then keep shooting at its head or throw a grenade or two at it. It will become dizzy and grab its head. Quickly run up behind it and perform a takedown. Make sure to press the right button that is displayed as quickly as you can. Eventually Ghale will kill it automatically. If you are quick enough you can even skin the creature to gain its heart before the body vanishes. The outpost store pays top dollar for one.
