How to unlock the Harvest King achievement

This will help you with all of the sowing and harvesting achievements.

It helps if you start by working on the money achievements first, so you have the capital available to buy multiple high end items.

You can use hired workers to help with this achievement, and you can track your progress in Statistics. Seeing as you can hire three workers at once, you will eventually need a set of 3 of each machine, but you can start with just 1.

    Before you sow :
    Press the Start button and ;
Set the game speed to 120x
Set the plant growth speed to fast
    Set plant wither to Off.
Buy 3 large fields. I like 15, 17, and 18 because they're big and they're close to the farm.

I always use high end equipment just to be sure it'll pull whatever I want it to. Here's my equipment list :

    To sow the areas :
    3x QuadTrac 620 (Tractors, $379k each)
3x Horsch Pronto 9 SW (Sowing Machines, $91k each)

The Pronto 9 does not require you to cultivate the soil first. So you can simply repeat the sow/harvest cycle over and over.

Do NOT water or fertilize your crops. This will fill your harvester more quickly, and slow your progress. Remember, the achievement is for hectares, not for volume of crops.

Fill your sower with your chosen seeds, set your tractor off at the corner of a field, and press B to hire a worker. Watch him for a moment to make sure he doesn't stop. If you have a few big fields, you will be able to sow around 60 hectares in one go.

With the speed setting adjusted, your crops will be ready long before your hired workers finish sowing.

    Harvesting Equipment:
    3x New Holland CR10 90 (Harvesters, $430k each)
3x New Holland Superflex Draper 45ft (Headers, $79k each)

Simply hire 3 workers and set them off harvesting.

    Transportation (important)
    3x QuadTrac 620 (Tractors, $379k each) - already owned
3x Fliegl Dolly (Dollys, $8.9k each)
    3x Krampe SB 30/60 (Tippers, $98k each)

Even though you're using the harvester with the biggest capacity, it will soon fill up, and will only harvest approximately 1 hectare on each load. The harvester will then stop and wait for you to come and unload it. I found filling it up took about 15-20 minutes, but you may find different.

Luckily, your Krampe tipper will hold 4 full harvester loads, so you'll only need to go and empty it at the farm every 4 times the harvester stops. It's easiest to have 3 trailers, one for each harvester. If you have more money, you may wish to buy more trailers and park them at the side of the field.

    Extra Tip 1.
Always try to have all three hired workers busy at the same time.

    Extra tip 2.
If you have a lot of money, buy 6 of everything, set everything in place, and while you're emptying a harvester, dismiss that worker and set another one going. This minimizes downtime while you empty harvesters.

    Extra tip 3.
If you don't have enough money to buy all the fields and equipment, have two harvesters working the same field from different sides, and use only one trailer to service them.

John CabooseAs far as I can tell Canola has the lowest density (liter per hectar) and should be most effective.

SmactSillyIf you hire workers you don't need to fill the seed. It will happen automatically.

BeatmoshCan anyone tell me... on the statistic menu is this "Threshed Area" or "Worked Area" or neither or both?

SkridgerDoes turning corn into chaff count? I have been doing this to make money and hoping it counts for this at the same time. You would think it would since I'm still using a harvester to gather it, but a different kind of harvester.
