How to unlock the Anchors Away achievement

Some small bits of information and advice that I would have loved to know myself when I started out on this journey:

    1. Just starting out? Everything you need to know about Dark Anchors is right here.

    2. You don't need to keep track of these yourself. For one the icon on the map is being updated when you clear a Dolmen so you will always know which ones you did. Also: The game has an achievement tracker for these. You can find the various trackers for this achievement by browsing to Journal -> Achievements -> Exploration -> Dark Anchors.

Dominion Anchor Shatterer (Aldmeri Dominion, 15 Dark Anchors)
Covenant Anchor Shatterer (Daggerfall Covenant, 15 Dark Anchors)
Pact Anchor Shatterer (Ebonheart Pact, 15 Dark Anchors)
Imperial Anchor Shatterer (Cyrodiil (PvP), 10 Dark Anchors)

    3. There are three anchor sites on each of the five areas for each alliance plus one in Cyrodiil (shared PvP area). Getting to each may be a hassle and some areas require that you complete certain quests to become accessible. A solution for this would be to ask a guildmate to give you access to a wayshrine in the area. You can join their group, have them travel to that location and then select the option to 'travel to player' via the group menu. I recommend doing these on the side or skip them and come back once you've reached max level. That way you don't waste any time on having to wait for other people to show up or wiping in the fights.

    4. You will be able to solo these eventually with any build, just maybe not at the beginning of your leveling journey. If you can't find other people running these skip them and come back later. My main is a healer and I don't have any issues clearing these alone.

    5. Timer for respawn is about 10 minutes.

    6. The Cyrodiil sites are located in the PvP area. I recommend doing these in one of the less popular campaigns as they will have fewer people playing them. It will also be helpful to run these early in the morning or late at night if you are not really keen on PvP encounters.

If you need more information please do not hesitate to ask. I can update the solution with more information if necessary. Good luck!

Gas LeekThere is no "respawn timer". The dark anchors are on a strict rotation schedule, and the next one will only be ready once the previous one has been finished by someone.

    Cyrodiil Dark Anchors Guide

A few notes to begin with:
    • Only one Dark Anchor is active at a time and will only change location after being cleared.
    • Cloud Ruler Temple is just a location and not a true Dark Anchor.
    • You can see where the active Dark Anchor is using one of Wayshrines at your Alliance base.

To being with, I recommend visiting every Dark Anchor in one big loop of Cyrodiil (map link: https://images.app.goo.gl/7ZqahSMmB1o4fcTM7). Doing this allows you to see where the active Dark Anchor is as you can use one of the Wayshrines at your Alliance base to view the full map in more detail. The active Dark Anchor will be the one flashing with two crossed swords on the icon. Then, you can set a marker for the active Dark Anchor and make your way there from your base, or use a Transitus Shrine to fast travel closer. It is very unlikely that the Dark Anchor will have been moved by the time you get there as I managed to obtain this achievement whilst only ever seeing one enemy player at a Dark Anchor. I kept some distance between us and we both managed to clear the Anchor and be on our separate ways. If you don’t approach enemy players, there’s a good chance they won’t attack you. Dark Anchors being so quiet means it’s better to actively farm them instead of waiting for it to change location as this can take a very long time. You might have to farm a lot of Dark Anchors to get the last one or two you need, or you can return every now and then and see which Dark Anchor is currently in use.

You don’t really need to check the Journal to see which Anchors you have already cleared as when you’re using a Wayshrine to view the map in full the Dark Anchors you have previously cleared will be white with a black outline instead of the standard icon, which is black with a white outline. However, if you do want to view the list navigate to:
Journal > Achievements > Exploration > Dark Anchors > Imperial Anchor Shatterer

To speed up the process, you can use Keep Recall Stones, which you can purchase at your Alliance base for 20k Alliance Points, to return back to the base and see where the next Dark Anchor is. I also fast travelled back to base by jumping in the river that flows up from the South and wraps around the Imperial City (in the centre of the map) as the Slaughterfish in this water will kill you very quickly. There are also Transitus Shrines that you can use in linked Keeps to fast travel back to base.
