How to unlock the Whack-A-Grub achievement

    Load Act 1 - Fish in a Barrel on casual difficulty and play until the fountain (1 minute) and keep your grenades!
    Inside the fountain you will find two other grenades. You should now have four grenades for all four e-holes. The e-hole spawns immediately after you have reached the fountain.
    There are four locations for the e-holes and the order in which they spawn is different every time (except the last e-hole). If you press the Y-button, the game tells you where a e-hole spawns. Now you have to throw your grenade quickly into the e-hole before any of the locust have fully emerged. If one of the locust emerges before you close the e-hole with your grenade, reload the last checkpoint and you'll start again at the fountain. The last e-hole is a bit difficult because you have to throw your grenade quickly from the hip where the cars get blown up. The achievement should unlock after you've closed the last e-hole.

    Sniff this unitMe and my friend let atleast 3 grubs come out of each hole but closed them with grenades at some point and still got the achievement. Buggy but who am i to complain.

    BroflexionsYeah it is buggy but in a good way. I was going through this level with a random player whose game I joined and we each closed 2 holes with the grenades but there were at least 2 grubs who rushed us and had to take them down but when we closed the 4th hole, the achievement popped.

    Load up ACT I: Ashes - Fish in a Barrel on Casual difficulty. From the beginning, kill the enemy on the troika and continue forward to the large square with the statue in the middle, and make sure to not use any grenades before this point. Once you reach the square, go into the middle area and pick up the extra frag grenades in order to have 4 total.

    Now emergence holes (e-holes) will begin to open up around the middle area, and you must close them immediately in order for no enemies to emerge. Arm you grenade and hold Y in order to be alerted to the location of the hole as soon as it is created. As soon as possible, toss a grenade into the hole making sure it explodes before any of the enemies are able to emerge and fully stand up. You should be able to make all 4 grenade throws from the center area. As soon as you close the last hole the achievement will unlock, and make sure to "Load Last Checkpoint" if you miss!

    Load up Act 1 - Ashes, chapter Fish in a Barrel and kill some enemies around the first Troika. You will get a checkpoint right before you enter the area where the achievement is, so do not worry if you do not get it the first time.

    As Im LoganXP pointed out, it can be done in co-op.

    You will have 2 grenades coming to the fountain, there are 2 more inside, so there is no room for error.

    Every time an e-hole is created, you can focus it with pressing the Y button. You need to throw the grenade RIGHT WHEN THE HOLE IS CREATED. If your grenades kill enemies, that are emerging on the surface, it does not count, even if the hole is sealed.

    First three holes are super easy, if you throw the grenade right as they emerge, but the last one can be tricky, because you have to throw the grenade as the cars explode, do not wait with your grenade, it's explosion has quite a range, so even if you do miss a bit, it should count. I personally threw all the grenades from inside the fountain, so you do not need to panic, just focus on the directions.

    If the chievo does not pop as the objective is crossed on the screen, immediately pause the game, wait a bit just to be sure and select Load Last Checkpoint, which will put you right before the fountain, so you can try again.

    JaxxiczekNo idea, but I suppose it can, since it is only about closing the holes, it can be even easier that way. Hopefully someone clarifies.

    Im LoganXPI can confirm that it can be done in coop. Although, I think mine may have glitched because I know for a fact that locust emerged from the holes.
