The achievement pops as soon as you hit 37 points in a quarter
, so if this is the only achievement you're going for, you can quit. But you can combine this achievement with Perfect Practice Makes Perfect, Trip-Dub, and It's Raining achievements.
First, go to Features/Options --> Options --> Gameplay Settings. Set the difficulty to Rookie and increase the quarter length to 8-10 minutes (I did it 9. I tried 8 and fell 5 points short when the quarter expired). Turn off fatigue, injuries and (if you want to) fouling out as well. You could mess with the sliders too. I personally didn't.
Next, go to Play Now. Pick Golden State as your team. You can play any team as the CPU (maybe you want to destroy the Clippers if you're a GSW fan
), but I selected Dinamo Sassari as the CPU team. They're a Euroleague team rated 51 on offense and defense (51 overall), making them the worst team in the game.
Once in the game, get the ball to Klay Thompson (#11) and start shooting 3's. Corner 3's are the easiest to make, as the shot meter is wider and has more leeway. Even if they are contested they usually go in provided you release X as close as possible to the perfect mark (the little white line in the middle of the shot meter). You can also drive to the basket and go for lay-ups to preserve time, as those allow you to score quickly. The starters shouldn't come off as they won't get fatigued, but if they do call a timeout (the back button) and, under substitutions, insert the starting lineup back into the game.
***If you're pressed for time, you can intentionally foul the ball handler on defense by holding X (this is where turning off fouling out comes in handy). After 5 fouls, you'll put the other team in the "bonus" and all fouls will lead to free throws, stopping the clock and allowing you more time to score.***
As stated before, once you hit 37 points in the quarter you're done. But with all the time left in the game, you can go for the triple-double, 15 3's and 7 perfect shots. All these achievements unlock in game once the requirements are met.
If I can improve this solution in anyway, please leave a comment. All are appreciated.
