For those having trouble with this, this tip is from Microsoft Solitaire Collection's Facebook page:
"Some of our fans were wondering how to get the Mining for Gold achievement. As you can see in this video, the easiest way to play with one card (instead of 3 card) Klondike. Use only the cards from the deck that you need to reveal the rest of the face-down cards on the board. Above all else, make sure you have at least 5 cards in your deck unplayed. Once you have it set, go to the very end of the deck and work backwards. After you've played 5 cards in a row from your deck, you'll get the Mining for Gold Achievement."

Now in summary, make sure all the cards on the board are flipped using as few cards from the deck as possible. Once you have 5 or more cards left and all other cards flipped over, just start putting cards to the foundation! If it doesn't work out, remember where you get stuck and use undo.

Here is the video that they used to demonstrate their method (All credit to Microsoft Solitaire Collection):

xXOdessaXxI'm still struggling to get this one. I guess I'm not quite sure as to what makes it count.

xTMx VoytekWhen you click the deck to draw a card, it goes to the 'waste pile'. So you have to have drawn at least 5 times to have a waste pile big enough. Then you have to see if you can either place those 5 cards somewhere on the field of play or to the foundation (the top four rows for the different suits) without having to draw another card.

Keep your eyes peeled for useful cards when you are drawing. Then remember you can always click undo to your hearts content until you figure out where the best chance to get this achievement is. Unfortunately that's the best I have for you.

cooper101183if thats true Apostle which it clearly is not, then why have you looked into the achievement SOLUTION guide and the comments. I have 16000 achievements and any I have won during gameplay I have never bothered to look up. I suspect you are a TROLL. GROWUP

maybe he just wanted to post and say it was that easy and other people may also unlock without paying attention, there's no space on TA for that negativity.

ALoneWolf42I still can't get it. cry

I thought once I had used 5 from the waste, but I finished the game and no achievement appeared. The waste is the pile you've already flipped over, right?

xTMx VoytekYou have to use 5 straight from your waste pile BEFORE drawing a new card from the deck, it's not cumulative. The moment you draw a card, your count resets. Yes, the waste pile is the pile that you have already flipped over from the deck.

ALoneWolf42@xTMx Voytek: I'm not sure what went wrong, but yesterday I was very careful and set it up so I had 10 cards in the waste pile and used them all without drawing a new card. 10 cards! It still didn't work. cry

The only 2 things I can thing of:
-It may have been a Daily Challenge game, and didn't count. (Daily challenge games don't count in my 100 Klondike games tally.)
-I may have turned off Wifi to disable ads. (I think this might also disable 100 Klondikes tally.)

ALoneWolf42I tried again: On Easy mode, 1 card draw, not a Daily challenge, Wifi was on. 7 cards this time. It still won't trigger.

Do you have to place the cards on a stack? I've been using Aces so maybe this disallows the run.
