The achievement description for this one is relatively straightforward and simple. Just earn 10 bronze medals in Challenges. What does this mean?
- Complete 10 Challenges
Completing a challenge will earn you the bronze medal at minimum. In some cases, this is pretty simple, but it's not a given. You must complete the challenge before the "Time to Beat." If you hit this time, you fail the challenge and need to restart.
Here are some tips:
- For bosses, be sure to know their weakness or a strategy to take them down quickly. If you don't know a boss weakness, don't just pause to the weapon selection screen to look it up. Pause to the game screen pushing select. The timer will keep running even during a pause to the weapon selection.
- For platforming sections in Mega Man 1, you should use the Magnet Beam. This can make those sections a lot easier and quicker. The first ten bronze medals will have a lot of MM1 levels, so this will be a big help.
- You are allowed to die. I had it happen a bunch learning how to do some of the sections. In the process, I learned a lot about working through sections and memorizing patterns of Robot Masters. I hadn't played the original MM games much as a kid so I had to practice quite a bit and learn how to advance. Keep in mind that the clock continues to run during the respawn.
- For some of the Mega Man 2 stages (also the most prevalent game in the first 10 challenges), you are given energy tanks on some challenges (mainly the Wily challenge). If you are having trouble with something, use it to help. Everything refills after you die anyway.
