This solution covers Hell difficulty specifically, but a lot of the information here covers all of the difficulty achievements.

There are two things to realize about this game when you play on Hell difficulty: (a) you are going to die a lot (it took me about ten tries to finally beat it), and (b) the RNG (Random Number Generator) can be VERY unforgiving. There was one game I played the day I finally beat it on Hell that literally lasted about a minute - a boss was the first enemy I ran into and there was no way I was going to beat it.

The first thing you should do before planning on going for the Hell difficulty achievement is play through the game on Easy first. This will obviously let you get used to the controls, but will also allow you to develop the tactics you're going to need for Hell. Also, the difficulty achievements stack, so you will also earn the following (the one for Easy will also be included here if you started on Hell):

General Information

If you run into a Boss and you don't feel you're ready to take it on, just close the door (cn_X) immediately and walk away - it will not follow you. It's not worth the risk until you have the best gear possible and/or have stocked up on health.

This is a turn-based game and not a button-masher. One of the most important things to remember is take your time and think about what you want to do, especially during the Final Boss. Make sure you also explore every nook and cranny of each of the seven floors of the game. This way, you can collect as much gold, gear, and food/health as possible. It took me about two hours to complete it the day I finished it.

I did this achievement on the Rackan Mansion dungeon, which is made available to you after you beat the game the first time. I honestly don't know if this level is generally more difficult that the original level because I played them on different difficulties. If this is your first time completing Rackan Mansion, you will also unlock

Play as the Assassin. This is critical, as you have a ranged attack, and can generally kill most enemies before they even get close to you. If this is your first time beating the game with the Assassin, you will also unlock (or any of the other characters if you haven't used them before):

If you find any Life Elixir potions (these are green), save them for the Final Boss. The Life Elixir gives you 25 extra hit points, even if you are full, so you can go beyond your current maximum.

If you get the skill for Good Night, use it. This puts enemies to sleep and can make some fights almost laughable.

Random Tips

- Pick up EVERYTHING. Everything has a value, and if you need to buy something, you'll have the gold for it.
- Sell, sell, sell. If you're planning as the Assassin, you don't need either of the mana potions (blue or purple). Also, if you have a skill book in your inventory, moving the cursor over to it will tell you if you already know the skill. If you do, sell the book - it gives you a nice return.
- Buy or find keys to open all the locked doors. There will be at least one chest in each key-locked room. There may also be either a health- or mana-filling station in there too. Sometimes an enemy will be in there, so don't go barging in. Remember - patience.
- Your health is refilled to 100% every time you gain a level, so if you are close to top health but not full, you may want to save a health potion or food since you'll be topped off anyway.
- Use the D-pad to move your character and not the thumbsticks. This will help keep you in the mindset that this is turn-based and not a shooter. At least it did for me.
- When you open the door to a new room, use the step-and-shoot tactic. Since the game uses a "fog of war" technique that only shows you what's in a room as far as a torch can light, you will periodically be able to shoot at enemies while they're still on the outer fringes.
- Pay attention to what you're filling up your health with. Don't waste one of the higher-level food items if you can use a combination of multiple lower-level ones. Health is precious.
- Don't be afraid to backtrack up the dungeon, either for a merchant, or a previously-discovered boss. Also don't be afraid to skip activating quests (these are the headstones with purple orbs in them) until you feel ready for them.
- If you didn't do this on the first playthrough, make sure you listen to the end after you pick up the lantern (you have to press A after picking it up to proceed). Don't press any buttons once you get back to the campfire scene. Doing this will also get you this achievement:

I don't know how long the video will be available, but here is a portion of my Twitch stream the day I beat it on Hell:
