This solution isn't close to original - as it's been done in virtually every FIFA game that has a "Free Kick" type achievement - but here it is anyway for anyone who hasn't had the pleasure of facing this type of achievement:
First, you're going to need two controllers.
From the FIFA 16 "Main Menu", use the

or

buttons to highlight the "Play" tab.
Highlight the "Kickoff" tile (usually in the top left corner) of the "Play" tab. Press the

button to enter the next menu. With the primary controller (the controller you want to get the achievement on) select one team. Select the opposite team with the second controller.
(I used FC Barcelona as my team - as Lionel Messi is a decent free kick tacker. I chose Limerick (from the Republic of Ireland Airtricity League) for the second controller.)
Regardless, if you are having issues getting this to work, select a team with a great free kick specialist (Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich all come to mind) and any half star or one star team (England & Republic of Ireland have plenty of these) as your opponent.
Make sure you designate a controller for each side.
Keep progressing until you get to the final screen (it will have "Play Match" highlighted) - you can

or

over to the "Game Settings" and change the time and/or difficulty if you feel the need. I used Beginner & 20 minute halves - I figure the longer the better. The achievement is going to pop as soon as you get the free kick in goal (as long as it's a curled shot), so you can quit out if you don't want to finish the match.
Once the game starts get possession with your primary controller, move the player with the ball to the spot you like the most (I prefer just outside the penalty box, but slighly to the left of the penalty spot), and then use the second controller to foul him (I usually just slide tackle from behind). This will get you a free kick.
You don't need to worry about distance this year - so set it up wherever you prefer.
Now that you have a free kick, take the second controller and move the wall (the line of players standing between the player taking the free kick and the goal) and move them left or right as far as possible using the

or

. I generally move them in the direction that will afford me the most goal space.
Next, press the back

button on the second controller & move the goalkeeper away from the goal too. I found that in this year's edition it isn't necessary to move him all the way to the opposite end line - just somewhere behind & away from your free kick taker is fine.
Now aim appropriately with your kick taker, press the

button, try to stay at 2 bars or less if you are in as close as I recommended, & then let fly. I happen to be terrible at free kicks and I got this on my first attempt (using Messi).
As a caveat, I've read elsewhere that you need to use a third kick taker and press various other buttons, but you don't.

is the default "curled shot" when taking a free kick, and you can simply use your primary free kick taker.
Good luck!!
