You have to beat all 10 11 of the plagues on Normal (or higher) in the Volcanic Ash Scenario. That's Bacteria, Virus, Fungus, Neurax Worm, Parasite, Prion, Necroa Virus, Nano-Virus, Bio-Weapon, Simian Flu and Shadow Plague. To get 3 biohazards you need a score of 65,000.

I finally beat this using a combination of guides. The main guide I followed was on Steam. This gave me the strategy for 8/10 plagues with the guide failing for Necroa Virus and Simian Flu. They were originally done on Casual, which did work a while ago, but with the update for Simian Flu the requirements changed then I guess.

So let's look at the 7 similar plagues first which are Bacteria, Virus, Fungus, Parasite, Prion, Nano-Virus and Bio-Weapon. I did this all on Normal difficulty. Note that if you manage to do this in less than 450 days you should get the 3 biohazards.

    General Strategy

ATP Boost, Base Oxidisation, Teracyte, Extremophile, Patho-Stasis

    Favourite Symptoms:
Rash, Sweating and Skin Lesions - these work well because they're highly infectious for a cheap price and it leads to Necrosis which is just wonderful for fast killing and re-infection of survivors with corpses smile

    - Start in India (the seaport is important)

    - Immediately evolve Livestock 1
    - Rash, Sweating and Skin Lesions
    - Get Water 1 then Birds 1
    - Get Bird 2 and Water 2
    - Get Drug Resistance 1, Genetic Hardening 1, Cold 1 and 2
    - Get any first tier transmissions that didn’t mutate (Air 1, Insect 1, Blood 1, Rodent 1)

    - Get any first and second tier symptoms that didn’t mutate:

    Top Row:
-- Coughing, Sneezing and Pneumonia - I would go for this grouping first because there would be a strong chance for Pulmonary Fibrosis or Immune Suppression to mutate first, thus saving some points. This obviously then leads to Total Organ Failure.
    -- Nausea and Vomiting

    Bottom Row:
    -- Insomnia and Paranoia
    -- Cysts, Hyper Sensitivity, Abscesses
    -- Anaemia and Haemophilia

Now you wait until every country is infected. Once you get that last one immediately evolve Necrosis and supplement that with mildly lethal symptom that also increase infectivity. Fever, Diarrhoea, Pulmonary Oedema and Pulmonary Fibrosis are the four main symptoms of this category. If you're short on points I would go with Pulmonary Fibrosis and then Fever, leaving the other two.

Once each country has a decent amount of infected it's time go for it with Total Organ Failure. For me I did take some chances and went from Necrosis straight to Total Organ Failure or I even evolved Necrosis before all the islands were infected if I found it was getting too late. I'd be looking to upgrade Total Organ Failure by the start of month 10 or 11 depending on the plague.

I would also go for evolving Coma because it helps with slowing down research speed and Drug Resistance 2 because it helps with infectivity. Obviously if the cure percentage is getting too high get Genetic Hardening and Genetic Reshuffle depending on what you need.

After this (depending on what you can afford):
    - Hemorrhagic Shock
    - Immune Suppression
    - Dysentery
    - Internal Hemorrhaging
    - Systemic Infection
    - Tumours
    - Whatever lethal symptom you want at this point

A note about closed islands from the guide although I found it just wasn't worth pursuing. I just restarted if this happened and to be honest it didn't even happen that frequently.
    *** Spoiler - click to reveal ***

Some slight changes to the general strategy for each plague.

    Follow the above.

After evolving Livestock 1 put a point in Viral Instability 1 (before the three symptoms), and a second one after Birds 1.

Spores are your friend. So, after evolving Birds 1 and Water 1, use all 6 Spore Bursts from the first group and Spore Eruption (a total of 7 abilities in the one go). It will help spread the plague thanks to the symptoms that are evolved and you'll get some nice DNA points.

When you have about 8 healthy countries left go for the next set of Spore Bursts and Spore Eruption. It *should* infect them all but you know this game is random.

This plague is just slow with DNA points so I skipped evolving the bottom row symptoms as well as Insect 1 and Blood 1.
Suggestion from KinectKid333 for around 76k-78k in less than 365 days:
    *** Spoiler - click to reveal ***

This one is slow to react to any evolutions it gets so get your lethal stuff sooner. This plague is an example for me for getting Necrosis before all countries were infected and then evolving Total Organ Failure not that long after getting Necrosis.

Before getting Livestock, evolve the two Interception (Code Fragment/Segment) abilities in order to slow down the cure research. Play normally but keep in mind the cure will reach dangerous levels by the time you get to Bird 2. I think by the time you get to around 80% get the first Radical Elements ability and send the cure back to around 45-50%. You also want to get both Genetic Hardening 1 and 2 quite early in the game (after Water 2).

When every country is infected activate Replicatory Factory Overload (which will boost your infection rate) and Necrosis at the same time. Then go about your lethal symptoms in the general strategy. You can use Encryption Breached for more infections but you shouldn't need it.

This plague is highly lethal so the risk is mainly to islands being closed too soon. Evolve Gene Compression 1 & 2 after the three main symptoms. Evolve Deactivate Modified Genes whenever people start dying. Evolve Gene Compression after all transmissions are done from the general strategy.

Once all countries are infected evolve every single Bio-Weapon ability because the one you want is Annihilate. Evolve it, Necrosis and Drug Resistance 2 at the same time. Once that's done go for the lethals.

    Neurax Worm
This one is separate because it's a bit different than the others but thankfully is super easy on Normal thanks to the Trojan Planes. It also follows the less than 450 days for 3 biohazards rule.

Switch to Trans-Stasis because more transmissions are needed and Genetic Mimic because we don't need random mutations. Also start in China instead of India.

    - Get Eggs 1 and Rodent 1. Afterwards, you want to go all the way with the Locomotion transmissions until Air 3, although you should also get Water 1 before moving on to Air 2.
    - Get Trojan Planes 1
    - Get Eggs 2 as well as Insect 1 and Birds 1
    - Finish the transmissions with Water 2 and Eggs 3
    - Get Drugs 1, Cold 1 and 2
    - Get Trojan Planes 2 and 3
    - Get Neural Breach, Cerebral Tendrils, Adrenergic Constriction, Anxiolytic Infusion, Psychosis, Adoration, Devotion and finally Transcendence

More infection is what you want so go for Drug 2, Birds 2, etc.

    Trojan Plane Strategy
Don't go for the islands yet, go for continents and larger countries first.

    - West Africa
    - USA
    - Brazil
    - Russia
    - Canada
    - Then our favourite islands wink
    - Whatever healthy country is left

    Necroa Virus
As I said above the Steam guide did not work for me so instead I used the Spicy guide because the timeframe on this is more strict than the others. You only get less than 375 days for this (Das Kuhnen reports 65209 in 381 days but I managed it in 379 days once and still didn't get it so it could be other factors, but still, aim for around this amount). The key to winning here is to go straight for the zombies. I managed it in 366 days. One thing you have to hope you don't get is any sterilisation events. Restart if you do. It's not worth dealing with it with so little time to spare.

ATP Boost, Suppression, Spliced Activation, Darwinist (mutations are good!), Xerophile

    Start in Saudi Arabia

    Evolve the following:
    - Hyper Salivation
    - Polyphagia
    - Gastroenteritis
    - Blood 1
    - Air 1 and 2

    It's braaaaaaaaiiins time!
    - Cannibalism
    - Cytopathic Reanimation
    - Blood 2
    - Air 3

    Alternative infection route by b0seiju:
    *** Spoiler - click to reveal ***

Zombies will now start appearing. Continue with:
    - Anaerobic Resuscitation
    - Enhanced Motor Control
    - Peptide Surge
    - Acidic Reflux
    - Naja Mortis - from the point below this could be skipped if you're short on points but I evolved it.
    - Autothysis - This is in the guide but I found it could be kept until later when you have much more DNA points to play with. It's better to start being able to move the hordes sooner.

    Now evolve:
    - Horde Instinct
    - Structured Travel
    - Drifting Fermentation
    - Dyskinetic Movement
    - Echopraxia
    - Engorged Quadriceps
    - Horde Mentality
    - Horde Vocalisation
    - Horde Pheromones
    - Autothysis - now this is ok to evolve to help deal with Z-Com.

If you've done everything right you'll be in early month 10. This next part will be random but the main point in the guide still stands:
    - Play on normal speed. You will be alternating between pausing and resuming on normal so you can work out where to send your zombie hordes. You can easily have multiple hordes on the go so playing on the fastest speed will not be beneficial here because you need to plan carefully.

    Advice from the guide:
    *** Spoiler - click to reveal ***

Other beneficial evolutions for dealing with Z-Com:
    - Dermal Calcification
    - Cranial Elephantitis
    - Bone Dysplasia

Optional (depends on your DNA points):
    - Masticatory Tension
    - Lumbrical Hypertrophy

    Simian Flu
This was completely and utterly brutal. You get less than 470 days to win which is much more lenient than any of the other plagues but it is much more slower. The key is definitely to use the apes to help spread the plague. The Steam guide was definitely written for the Casual difficulty and it ends up going at least 3 months over the time.

The guide I ended up using was a Spicy guide but as you can see from the screenshots his days are well beyond 470 days. What really helped was a comment from Heretix89 who said what he modified to win on this scenario.
    *** Spoiler - click to reveal ***
After 10 hours of failed attempts trying to modify the Steam guide, this was the winner for me. So let's go!

ATP Boost, Teracyte, ATP Overdose, Leadership, Extremophile

    Start in Central Africa

First things first play on normal speed! This does actually make a difference.

    Evolve the following:
    - Simian Neuro-Genesis
    - Inter-Genus Dissemination 1 and 2
    - Ape Colonies - and then establish your colony in Central Africa

    - Social Cohesion
    - Cognitive Shift
    - Sebaceous Excretion (transmission) - I did it a bit different as I thought it was worth having that little bit of extra DNA sooner
    - Education

Wait for the following countries to have intelligent apes, then establish a colony in them:
    - Sudan
    - East Africa
    - West Africa

Once you have the 4 colonies, continue:
    - Hominidae Bridge
    - Water and Air 1
    - Water and Air 2
    - Extreme Bioaerosol
    - Formites 1 and 2
    - Drug and Cold Resistance 1
    - Drug and Cold Resistance 2
    - Ape Rampage
    - Organised Travel
    - Logistics
    - Horseback Riding
    - Seafaring **
    - Primal Awareness **

** - you can get these two later on when you're making more DNA, I'd just recommend them for doing some traveling along with avoiding drones.

Establish a colony in the first country to get intelligent apes:
    - Indonesia OR India OR China - you will have 5 colonies total

**In some cases when I felt it was taking too long I just took my colony in Sudan and sent it straight across to China which would also place intelligent apes in India and I just set up a colony there. It really just depends on what's happening for you.

Once you have 5 colonies it's time to go for infection rates:
    - Nausea
    - Vomiting
    - Diarrhoea
    - Pharyngitis
    - Coughing
    - Pneumonia
    - Haemoptysis
    - Sneezing
    - Epistaxis
    - Rash
    - Photophobia
    - Subconjunctival Bleed
    - Subconjunctival Haemorrhage
    - Blindness
    - Genetic Hardening 1 & 2 - From the guide I didn't find this necessary at all

Once you have good infection rates go for the lethals (re-ordered to what I found more useful):
    - Neuro-Enhancement 1, 2 & 3
    - Total Brain Death
    - Meningitis
    - Coma
    - Haemorrhagic Shock
    - Hypocoagulability
    - Internal Haemorrhaging
    - Pulmonary Haemorrhage
    - Hydrocephalus

    - Formites 3 - I sort of mixed this in to the above depending on how my infections were going. I was having issues with Canada and Russia but when I evolved this they improved. Feel free to add in any other symptoms or transmissions depending on your situation.

Another tip would be to move your non-colonised apes when possible. For example, I found that my infection rates would be good in the USA but not in Canada so I moved whatever apes were there into Canada. You can do this in any country. Playing on normal speed will help with being able to plan your movements.

Destroy those Gen-Sys labs when possible but not straight away. I would recommend doing the full evolution of Ape Rampage to have all three abilities before hitting the labs. I believe they do hold some healthy people so be sure to get them near the end when you have those DNA points to spend.

And of course if the cure rate goes high, well getting Coma will help, but obviously go for Genetic Hardening and Genetic Reshuffle as needed. I didn't find it to be an issue though. If I had the points near the end I just used them to lower the cure rate.

This plague walks a fine line between infections and deaths so it is quite tricky. You have to be watching everything and the earlier you can infect a country the better.

    Shadow Plague
Update June 2017: I wrote this guide last year before this plague was released so I didn't need to do this. However, here is a very detailed Steam guide by SatchmO. It states it also works for Pirate Plague and Shut Down Everything. You seem to have around 515 days to complete this.

So good luck everyone! This is not an easy achievement so I hope adding in my sources into one place will be helpful :)

EazyE2285These solutions were amazing haven't tried Simian and only 2 bio on Prion but wanted to note before I forgot that I used the alternate route on Necroa and finished at 438 days, 79% cure and with 3 bio 65873. There is absolutely other factors but what they are I have no idea.
    Posted by EazyE2285 on 23 Nov 19 at 14:18
Elite1111111111Also agree Prion needs tweaking. Your general counter to people bringing it up was to "evolve earlier". For everything in your guide I evolved as soon as I had the DNA and I couldn't win quick enough.

These tweaks helped me win Prion in 2 tries (Caribbean shut down first try). Took me 500 days but since my cure was so low it made up for that.
    1. Swap out ATP Boost for Cytochrome Surge. The 9ish points you start out with from ATP Boost don't really give you much of a head start. YMMV.
    2. Swap out Base Oxidisation for Darwinist. The cure was happening way too fast on Prion, and Darwinist helps get lethals out early enough that they're killing when they should be.
    3. Ignore Air 1. I know it gives a boost to arid as well but without planes it isn't worth it.
    4. Swap Patho-stasis for essentially anything else. I used Sympto-Stasis. You're only buying 4 abilities with your guide so Patho-stasis only saves you 6 DNA. Sympto-Stasis saves you way more.

These tweaks also won me Bio and Nano on my first try, though that's not to say your original guides wouldn't have worked there.

For Necroa - The reason the timetable seems so strict is because the cure is invariably high by the time you get anywhere. If you can shut it down fast enough by kicking ZCOM to the curb you have more wiggle room. I won with 426 days because I was able to knock the cure down to 77% (used b0seiju guide).

For Shadow Plague - Dunno if something changed since that guy made the guide or he just wasn't paying attention, but every one of my games had 6 Templar Bases (vs. 4 from guide). They CAN be taken out by slaves, so maybe that's what happened to him and he didn't notice, but I had a lot of trouble taking out all 6. The only way I was finally able to win was making a second vampire and dividing the work. I did this right after getting Blood Rage.

SeitzzNot sure if Necroa was different a few years back, but I finished in 426 days, 88% cure, and 65,722.

With the exception of Necroa this is slightly easier than Super Sparrow. Expect a lot of frustration and a lot of time reloading saves. (I wish their was a guaranteed way to win each 1 but sadly they rely on a lot of luck and skill)

To get 3 biohazards on these scenarios, time is your biggest concern, I recommend that you don't put the speed onto the fasting setting until you've evolved your final symptom. The other big factor is cure progress, if you have any spare DNA near the end of a game that you can spend on a genetic reshuffle or symptom that increases research time - spend it!

Obviously you want to play all of these on Normal difficulty.

Dwaggienite"Evolve Any other Transmissions that you might require"

    This is not an instruction.

You need to tell us exactly what to evolve, because 'any transmission that you might require' designates all of them.
Posted by Dwaggienite on 01 Jun 17 at 17:53
CheshireMulishaThat is an instruction, due to the RNG nature of this game the plague can spread differently each time. You should have some game knowledge and judgement to know where your plague needs a little push to help it spread as quickly as possible. There is no guaranteed hand holding method to win this achievement, it does require some skill (and a lot of luck) to go with the general strategy.
Posted by CheshireMulisha on 01 Jun 17 at 18:08
DwaggieniteThanks. I gave it a go. I wish this game was less RNG.
