As REJECt444 points out: The comic-books saves as soon as you pick them up. You can die, and you don't have to complete a map to get the collectibles to count. You can also chapter select later and just pick up the remaining comics.


Harrison Memorial Hospital:

- Vol 1. Days Be Gone ( Image/Video )
You will be asked to craft a weapon. before you can go any further. In one of the rooms on the left side ( a bathroom ) is a rucksack. Search it to get the first collectible.
- Vol 2. Miles Behind Us ( Image/Video )
As soon as you enter the ventilation system. You will see another rucksack. Open it to find the next comic.
- Vol 3. Safety Behind Bars ( Image/Video )
When you get down from the ventilation you should see another rucksack to your left (basically right below the one that was in the ventilation)
- Vol 4. The Heart's Desire ( Image/Video )
This one is at the very end of the level. When you're outside. After you have dug your way under the wall. Follow the wall around and you'll see another rucksack.

Greene Family Farm:

- Vol 5. The Best Defense ( Image )
The building north of where you sleep ( outside of the fenced farm ) has the next rucksack. To get to it you'll need a pickaxe. Use the pickaxe to break through the wall, then search the rucksack.
- Vol 6. The Sorrowful Life (Image/Video )
In the middle-far right of the map. Outside the farm, right below the fence next to Dale's RV (next to the barn). You will need to get a shovel, and dig at this spot to reveal the next rucksack.
- Vol 7. The Calm Before ( Image )
In the main area (fenced in area) go out the exit on the south side. Follow the road to the right until you reach a building. Here you need to destroy the wall to enter the building, then grab a table and move it to a specific location. This will create a ladder so you can climb to enter the vents. ( Image to show where you place the table.) Enter the vents and follow it until you reach the rucksack.
- Vol 8. Made To Suffer ( Image )
At the bottom left of the entire map. ( you need to exit the fenced farm area ) Theres a rucksack in the open.
- Vol 9. Here We Remain ( Image/Video )
In the barn (filled with zombies). In the right bottom corner in a another rucksack.

Meriwether Correctional Facility:

- Vol 10. What We Become ( Image)
This is located behind the generator in a rucksack.
- Vol 11. Fear The Hunters ( Image )
In the bottom right of the map. Right next to the guard tower.
- Vol 12. Life Among Them ( Image )
Just south of the cell you start in, theres a large open area with a rucksack on the floor. Next to the rucksack is a slightly dug hole. Finish digging it and go underground to find another rucksack with the comic.
- Vol 13. To Far Gone ( Image )
In the bottom left of the map. In a fenced-in paring lot.
- Vol 14. No Way Out ( Image/Video )
This one is tricky. Its located on a roof. To get there, you need to go all the way to the left. Follow the fence down until it begins to turn. There should be a building to your right.
In this building, right next to the entrance is a table you can grab and place right next to the door below it. This will create a ladder so you can climb to enter the vents.
( Image that shows where to place the box ).
When you have entered the vents, go south, and break through the wall. And climb up the next set of ladders to reach the roof. Once you're on the roof, go to the north side and cross the pipe over to the next building (careful so you don't fall down). On the other building's roof again go north until you see the rucksack.

Woodbury:

- Vol.15. We Find Ourselves ( Image/Video )
From the top-right of the map, follow the right wall, south. About hallway down you'll notice an open area on the left, with a rucksack.
- Vol.16 A Larger World ( Image/Video )
In the top-left corner of the map, continue walking right you'll see a rucksack right in front of you on the road.
- Vol.17 Something To Fear ( Image/Video )
This one can be tricky to explain. From the far left wall, enter a building in the middle of the far left wall (see image for possible landmarks or video) and place the table at the correct place. ( Image of where to place the table ) Crawl up into the vents and up to the roof, and you should see the rucksack containing the comic.
- Vol.18 What Comes After ( Image/Video )
In the building where Glenn is being held. Move the table so you can reach the vents. ( Image of where to place the table) From here make it to the roof and over the the building to the left. Here you'll see a rucksack containing another comic.
- Vol.19 March To War ( Image )
Go to the building where Michonne is being held then just head East until you hit the next building with rooms etc. You will see a Rucksack through the wall this contains the comic (I just used a crowbar on the wall)

Alexandria:

- Vol.20 All Out War - Part One ( Image )
From the spawn, go directly east. The first building you reach has two locked doors, (one red and one purple ) and you will see the rucksack in the middle. Either get the keys so you can enter, or get a shovel/pickaxe to break down the first wall, then a shovel to dig under the door. Pick up the comic.
- Vol.21 All Out War - Part Two ( Image )
In the top-left corner of the map. You will see a rucksack behind two sets of fences. Cut down the fences and pick up the comic.
- Vol.22 A New Beginning ( Image )
From the spawn, go as far right as you can. If you walk in a straight line you should come across a building without any doors, very close to the map's right edge. Break down the wall and search the rucksack.
- Vol.23 Whispers Into Screams ( Image )
To find this comic, you need to dig a hole at the spawn area. Directly above Carl's room.
- Vol.24 Life And Death ( Image )
This one can be tricky. The collectible is in the middle right part of the map inside the church. To be able to enter the Church you need to enter the building to the left of the church, get to the middle room (its locked and requires the red key). Climb up on the table, and up on the roof. From here navigate to the church-roof, and go down the ladders. Keep moving the tables so you can get up the next set of vents until you reach the rucksack.
