This achievement is roughly half way through chapter 5 "Landed In Prison". It should be very obvious given you must cross a river of sewage by jumping across small floating platforms. The damage that will prevent you from getting the achievement is from touching the sewage, taking damage from enemies is ok.
*important*this achievement behaves exactly as it does in the original version.
If you fall in, pause right away but DO NOT SELECT RESTART CHECKPOINT. THE ACHIEVEMENT WILL STILL COUNT AS FAILED AND WILL BE RECORDED ON YOUR SAVE FILE. IF YOU DID RESTART CHECKPOINT AFTER FAILING, YOU MUST REPLAY THE LEVEL TO TRY AGAIN. Thankfully there is a work around giving you as many chances as you need if you happen to mess up (and you will).
originally my solution mentioned dashboarding, quitting, restarting, and loading your save. KitShicker43 in the comments mentions quitting to the main menu from the pause screen and reloading your save works too. I can't confirm it, but another commenter has said it does.
Point is: WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T USE RELOAD CHECKPOINT
start and end:The section this takes place at is very obvious. But its divided into 3 parts. Platforming section 1, a raised area you fight a bunch of enemies, and platforming section 2.
You will be near the end when Deadpool gets his teleport ability. The absolute end is when you teleport across what looks like a broken bridge, and the achievement will unlock just as you reach the area you begin teleporting around the top of the pods using the bumper button.
Jumping across the platforms:The trickiest bit for this achievement is crossing the sewage using the small platforms that float across it. Most of these sections are simple and straightforward. Some aren't.
There are 3 important bits of advice for these parts:
- look before you leap. Sometimes the floating platforms will flow at different speeds and you must wait for the best spacing so you can make it across. There is also at least 1 spot where the platforms go at the same speed and the space you must cross is *exactly* the length of a double jump.
- make sure Deadpool does not have a gun in his hands. Deadpool is programmed to automatically holster them after a period of time. If he does this mid-jump (which it seems he does this every time during this section), it will kill your momentum enough that you will likely fall into the sewage. You can have him put away his guns yourself just by swinging your melee weapon.
- last, if you are unsure where you're supposed to go as you jump to the other side, look for the exposed rebar. It should be flashing. Also, be sure to hold down
. If your jump is a little short, holding
will cause Deadpool to grab the edge instead of just fall into the sewage like an idiot.
good luck!
