How to unlock the Great Outdoors achievement

This is mostly self explanatory but I'll provide a couple of pointers for obtaining this.

This can be started through the Endurance Mode, and requires the Endurance Mode DLC. This can be obtained in single player or Co-op.

Any difficulty is allowed, I suggest Adventurer, the easiest.

Namely, one question I had was, you have to COMPLETE 10 days, ie reach the 11th day before extracting. From user Alyselle, a day takes 10 minutes from morning to morning, so you can expect to spend an hour and 40 minutes on this achievement.

Helpful cards include cards that give warmth and food for killing things and either infinite fire or poison arrows (I had equal success with both).

Look for and pick up a lantern (usually near a settlement or basecamp) and keep this with you for guaranteed warmth at all times. Once you have found your lantern, I recommend that you pick a tomb and stay in it with your lantern, venturing out only to hunt for food. You need to hunt ~2x per day in order to not starve, otherwise, you can hang out, care free at the entrance. (Credit to Warrz98 for his solution to Team Survival).

This can be stacked with other single player challenges such as Nature Retreat/Vacation/Happy Camper (extract after 7 or 5 days, respectively) or Co-op challenges such as Master and Apprentice (10 days w/ Artifacts), or Bonding Time (Survive 7 days), etc.

AlyselleJust to clarify because I haven’t seen anyone post it: a day - from the morning to morning message - takes 10 minutes.

Armstrong x360aThanks Alyselle, I’ll include that in the solution.

Sussey5This won't unlock for me on a series x. Has this happened for anyone else? The poisoned wolves one won't unlock either

Armstrong x360aHey Sussey5, thanks for posting. This game was notorious for having some of the co-op achievements not unlock on the first try. Sometimes repeating the requirements would work, but for my co-op buddy, the only thing that worked was resetting the game (delete, clear cache/saved data, reinstall) and completing the requirements again. Save this until the very end once you have completed everything else since it WILL CLEAR ALL your saved data including SP progress. I suppose you could back up your save first if you wanted to keep your progress that way. Good luck, please report back if it worked or not!

Broon43I'm putting a thumbs down on this one because Armstrong x360a should put at the very TOP of this solution to make sure you have the challenges "Happy Camper," "Nature Retreat," AND "Great Outdoors" active (a total of 3000 credits) so this achievement unlocks and stacks with the others! You'll know that you're on the right track after each day b/c a notification tracker will show for each challenge. Geez. Also, you should mention that when you light the signal fire that some really tough bad guys will try to kill you until the chopper arrives. Not thorough enough. Ugh!!angry
