To obtain this achievement you'll need to kill a wolf.
The easiest way in my opinion is to use tainted meat to kill one. However during the early game, food is typically precious. tainted meat is created with uncooked meat + devil's puffball. Using a bow and arrow is annoying, so don't bother.
Use a spear trap instead. you'll need a stone knife + x3 saplings + x2 braided cord.
There's a trick to do this very easy. when you find a wolf, run back to the raft. carefully go back into the area with the wolf and you'll notice the wolf is watching you from a distance, but won't attack. animals have an invisible wall they can't go past to attack scout. In this invisible wall area you are safe.
when you go to place the trap you'll be able to move it forward a couple feet in front of you. the idea is to build the trap in the area where the wolf can run, but while scout is still in the area of no attack.
keep running in and out of the raft area. back and forth. if you put the trap out far enough, the wolf will eventually run into it netting you the achievement.
