Hello and welcome to PBreezey's guide for The Division achievement "Good With My Hands"
This achievement requires you to craft 10 items. Once you have played through the intro and have made it to Manhattan, your first mission is to establish a new base of operations. Once you have done so, you will have access to the crafting station:
The crafting station allows you to craft weapons, gear, mods and upgraded crafting materials by using crafting materials. The crafting materials are:
- Fabric
- Weapon Parts
- Tools
- Electronics
- Division Tech
You can collect the crafting materials through various areas across your map. If you come across an area that is shaded in a light gray, then there will be the ability for you to get crafting materials there. Most areas have 2-3 lootable crates/bags that will give you 2-3 crafting materials ranging in rarity. You may track the amount and type of crafting materials you have in Inventory > Pouches.
*UPDATE* 3/11/2016: As pointed out by user mcnichoj I completely left out deconstructing items to obtain materials. In your inventory if you are hovering on an items you can click and hold
to deconstruct it. You will then be rewarded with crafting materials, the rarity of which is determined by the rarity of the items you deconstruct. You can also do a mass deconstruct of multiple items at once by first marking the item as junk with
and then holding down
once again and it will deconstruct all items you have marked as junk. Make sure when you do this the item you are hovered on while you deconstruct is something you actually want to deconstruct, otherwise you will deconstruct that item in addition to your junk.
You can also purchase crafting materials as a reward from Ubisoft Club using credits you have earned through The Division or other Ubisoft games. These materials will be available for you to retrieve from the Rewards Vendor in your base of operations.
From there, you just need to craft 10 items. I believe the
easiest way to get this achievement is by crafting upgraded crafting materials, i.e. turning green fabric into blue fabric. It only takes 5 of one green crafting material to make 1 blue crafting material, so you can craft a lot of materials this way. You can then use your upgraded materials to craft
even better items then you would have if you had used your green materials, so it's win win.
