Please note that this achievement is unobtainable with the current Title Update. It was broken on game release - patched - and then broken again when the DLC released. There were cars removed from the final game which means the game was looking for 45 cars driven and not the 43 that made it into the game.

There are 43 cars in total. The only car you can't buy is the Porsche 911. They can be driven in GRID world tour or Race Day events. I suggest doing driver challenges, noting which cars are available to drive, and checking them against the list to see if you need it or not. Some are not accessible until you complete more of the World Tour events.

I know that a lot of people already told it how to get this achievement on several different forums, but i always had a hard time figuring out all the steps what i have to do for this. So i thought i'm going to create a decent guide for this one. Just in case if anyone else have the same problem as me and struggling.

So first thing first, here is the list of things you will need:

- A USB stick
- Any kind of HDD for your console/or a Memory Card Unit
- A program called 'Horizon' (for moving files onto the USB stick)
- Title Update 1 for Race Driver: GRID

I know that moving files onto your Xbox HDD is a lot easier with the official Xbox Transfer Cable, but since that thing is not very common nowadays and... just admit it; it's a lot simplier to buy a cheap USB for a few bucks! I'd rather stick to this method. Ok, enough of unnecessary speech, let's get to the point.

1.) The Xbox 360 can recognize any USB device as an HDD, but first you need to Format it with the console itself, otherwise you won't be able to download files onto it or create saves files on it. Plug it into your console, go to Settings -> System -> Storage menu, choose the 'USB Storage Device', press cn_Y for 'Device Options' and choose 'Format'. Once the formatting is done, you are safe to remove the USB Stick from the console.

2.) You'll need a program in order to copy files onto your formatted USB Device. Copying files straight from the Windows library explorer won't get the job done! It's not working like that easily. There are several third party programs on the internet for this problem. Personally, i suggest you to use the one called 'Horizon'. It can be downloaded from the following website: https://www.wemod.com/horizon

3. Ok, so according to the people stories this achievement was already buggy when the game was officialy released back in 2008. They fixed it with Title Update 1, but because of some licensing issues they had to remove 2 cars from the game and the achievement became unobtainable again. Originally you had to drive 43 cars, but with a Title Update it grew to 45, which is in reality 43 with the 2 removed cars, but anyway the game will ask you to drive all 45; so, it's impossible to get if your game is not running with the Title Update 1. That's what we need to get. You can download it from the following site: https://digiex.net/threads/race-driver-grid-title-update-1.3...

Download and unzip it somewhere on your computer.

4.) Now start 'Horizon' and plug in your USB Stick to the computer. If the formatting was successful, it should recognize it correctly. Click on the 'Inject new file' button and choose the UNZIPPED Title Update 1 file. (It should be look like this: TU_11KQ1VV_0000004000000.0000000000081 - the numbers after the dot are determinates the type of the Title Update files on Xbox. If you cannot see it, your Windows options must be hide it. Don't worry about it.) Once the copying is done a pop-up window will inform you that Title Update 1 for Race Driver GRID was successfully copied to the storage device. Now close the program and unplug the USB Stick from your PC.

5.) Here comes the "tricky" part. Well people usually say that you have to clear the System Cache before you start moving the Title Update onto your console. Personally i think it's not neccesary but anyway, let's do it just for safety. It can be done in the 'Storage' menu. Choose your HDD/Memory Card, press cn_Y and choose the 'Clear system cache' option. Once it's done, you can move the Title Update 1 onto your hard drive/memory card.

5.1) Now this was really interesting for me, because of some weirdness i could only 'Move' the file. Copying it always gave me an error, that this file cannot be copied/moved. I had to try several times, but my third attempt was finally successful. I don't know why, simple copying the file didn't want to work for me at all. shock If you can't see any icons next to the Title Update file don't worry, it's fine. First i thought that's the problem why i'm not able to copy the file onto my HDD but turned out it has nothing to do with it. So don't worry about it.

5.2) Another important thing is that your save file must be a fresh new one. If you own the 8-Ball Car Pack and your save file was used with it, you have to delete or move it to another Hard Drive to keep it safe from corruption. My advice is to delete everything which is related with the game (for example if you already had a saved profile) Disconnect your console from the internet to prevent downloading the latest Update (or you can just simpy choose not to download it, but just for safety i unplugged my internet from the console) create a new fresh profile, quit from the game and after it 'Move' the Title Update 1 to the console. This is how i done it personally.

Well done! Now you have a chance to unlock this achievement! If the game on the loading screens tells you that your Gotta Drive 'em All statistic is 0/43 (or any actual number, depending how many cars you drove before) you are good to go! Here is the list about all the cars which you must drive for at least 1 miles:

*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***

The best way to keep them tracked is to create an Excel sheet for it and mark the ones which you already drove, or just grab a pen and a piece of paper and track them manually. The best way to start this is playing in Race Day mode.

You'll notice it really fast that at the very start of the game not every car is accessible. This is because you need to progress in GRID World to unlock every one of them. Don't worry! I know a really good way how to get this significantly fast! First drive every car in Race Day which is available at the start. Complete a 1 lap race on some kind of short track. (...but you can also drive them into the wall and destroy the car after you completed 1 mile with it. I don't recommend this method, but it works for sure.) While you get done with this part, you should be around 27/43, or something like that. From this point you can accept Driver Offers in GRID World mode. There are always 3 available offers what let you drive cars which normally cannot be chosen in Race Day at the early stage of the game. Once you have completed an offer, there will be a new one instead of it. As your list starts slimming you will run into the same offers more usually. You can also just start an offer and retire from it to quickly get a new one instead of the current one. A new season always starting after 4 or 5 races which gives you an opportunity to take part in a 24hr Le Mans Race. Take it or leave it, the choice is yours, but it counts toward as well. (The Porsche 911 GTR RSR can be driven here. As I mentioned before, i took an offer and crashed the car in the long straight part of the track, then retired. It still counted.)

After you are done with offers as well and you don't get any missing cars in this menu, you can start the actual carreer. Complete the Euro R Licence Tournaments and when Euro B Licence Tournaments will be unlocked, you'll have access to more cars in Race Day just like the Pagani Zonda R, Koenigsegg CCGT (which i never get in Driver Offers) and more. At this point for me only the Nissan R390 GT-1 missed, so i had to complete J-Speed Rookie and J-Speed Super-Two. After i scratched off these events i was finally able to drive this car in Race Day.

Achievement popped.

There is also something which worth to mention. However, you can use cheat codes to unlock some cars (just like the Pagani) it DOES NOT COUNT toward your progress. I tried it, and didn't work. Also, if you own a specific car in the Carreer and you want to sell it through Ebay, you can check how many miles are in the actual car. This is also a great way to track your list, but it's a very-very expensive and long way to do. And also, a great waste of your expensive time. Be wise and don't choose this path.
