There are a total of 27 upgrades for your ship. Five are randomly chosen for you to pick from after you defeat a boss. Each upgrade, other than the four listed below, will only appear once per play through. There are six categories of upgrades.

Offensive (red):
+10% Damage
Emit a Shockwave upon Collision
Weapons Reload Faster
Weapons Break Shields
Defensive (yellow):
+2 Health Points
Temporarily Absorb Lasers
Reduce Damage from Collisions
Reflect Damage when Hit
Utility (blue):
+1 Cargo per Level
Keep Firing after Swap
Semi-automatic Weapons Fire Automatically
Build a Shield When Not Firing

BULLET Autocannon
ENERGY Raygun, Vaporize Rocks & Junk
HEAVY Minirockets & Bigger Radius
BOTS Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger (Increased Ammo and Durability)
CONTACT +50% Damage
SHIELD Last Longer & Reload Faster
Weapon Drop/Damage
BULLET +50% Drop and +15% Damage
ENERGY +50% Drop and +15% Damage
HEAVY +50% Drop and +15% Damage
BOTS +50% Drop and +15% Damage
CONTACT +50% Drop and +15% Damage
+20% Score, +10% Damage, +2 Health Points, and +1 Cargo per level can show up multiple times and stack.
