bob qoqNice. Golem chest wasn't refilling for me so I climbed the towers and mined the rings. Lots more time and died twice in the process ha ha. I like to make a chest and put it in the bedroom to stash the blocks as I progress (and sleep in the bed to set my spawn point)

Unfortunately this achievement requires you mine alot of iron, I mean a whole lot. 1476 ingots to be exact. This is because you need 164 iron blocks, and since it takes 9 ingots to make a block, 9 x 164= 1476. I should mention this can also be done using either gold, diamond, or gem blocks, but since iron is signifcantly more common then these, it's your best bet. The reason you need so much is because there are 2 requirements to this achievment, 1 is to build a beacon, and the other is to fully power it. Building the beacon itslef can take quite a while, it requires 5 glass blocks, 3 obsidian, and a nether star, looking like this (G=glass block, O= obsidian, N= nether star)

    G G G
    G N G
    O O O
Obviously the only difficult to obtain piece is the nether star, which can be only obtained by killing the wither, which is quite a task in itself and I won't go over here.

The beacon, when placed, sends a beam of light into the sky. When placed on normal ground thats about all it does, however, it can be powered to create a buff which gives all players close to it an ability, such as increased speed, jumping, strength or health.

There are 4 levels available to pwoering up the beacon, each on only increases the range of the previous. To power it up you must build a pyramid out of the iron blocks, with the beacon sitting on top, The lowest power is simple a 3 x 3 square, with the beacon placed in the center. By adding underneath it a 5 x 5 square it is level 2, followed by a 7 x 7 then finally a 9 x 9 square meaning it is fully powered. So to fully power it you must make a square pyramid out of iron blocks with a base of 9 x 9 blocks, and the beacon in the center. As soon as you place the beacon the achievement unlocks.

The trouble with this achievement is the amount of time it will take you to get such a crazy amount of iron. If you are not up to the task of getting such a stupid amount of iron, you can always use the duplication glitch, which requires you make only 1 iron block and have built a double chest, the other guides explain how to do this glitch. An even quicker method is by just going into the tutorial, as there is a beacon already built with the top two levels there, so you do not have to craft a beacon and duplicating the items happens much faster.

Mild GonoliniOh that's too bad Stan, with that your only option is to actually mine all of the iron.

It's weird they would patch it, it's been in the game since the game first launched on 360 without being patched, surprised it took them this long.

GhostWrexOk, so there is also a strip of 26 diamond blocks under the fence of the mansion at X:-19 to X:10, Y:70, Z:329. That should help some people out too

AustackerAs of this moment (12 Apr 2019) this achievement can be done purely in the Tutorial world alone.

A fully powered beacon is done with a 9x9 base with a 7x7, 5x5 and 3x3 on top with the beacon going on last in the middle.

It does NOT need to made of Iron alone. You can use Iron, Gold, Diamond or Emerald blocks to form any layer.

If you harvest the rings in the tutorial world (high up where you fly the Elytra through) and the 2 layer premade diamond beacon down the bottom first, you can complete this with Achievement using these materials alone in the following configuration :

    9x9 base - Diamond Blocks
    7x7 layer - Emerald Blocks
    5x5 layer - Gold Blocks
    3x3 layer - Emerald Blocks

Finish with the beacon on the top middle and boom, achievement complete.

To fully power a beacon you have to create a pyramid using any combination of iron, gold, emerald or diamond blocks. The pyramid is 4 layers with the beacon on top. 1st layer is 9x9, then 7x7, 5x5, 3x3 for a total of 164 blocks or 1476 ingots. Normally, this would take a very long time. Thanks to Content Update 48 and it's wonderful new Tutorial World, however, this achievement is now unbelievably easy to obtain with well over 200 iron, gold, emerald and diamond blocks readily available.

After exiting the starting area, head across the bridge and towards the beacon (the beam of light shooting into the sky). You'll see two towers on either side of the beacon, with colorful rings of gold, emerald and diamonds. There are 10 rings with 24 blocks each, which is more than enough to make a fully powered beacon and then some.

Go around the beacon then turn left. On the right are iron blocks, grab the others from the chest near them, punch a tree and use the crafting table next to the anvil you passed previously to make iron pickaxes. Grab the blocks from the towers then dig out around the beacon and fill it in with blocks.

You have to fill in the pre-built beacon with blocks as it is initially filled with dirt blocks.
