Difficulty levels do not stack. I suggest playing through the game on Easy and Medium first to get a feel for the gameplay before attempting it on Hard.

For me the key to completing this game on Hard difficulty was to always play as the Defending team. For Africa you will want to play as Strogg. They defend in all 3 of the missions.

I suggest playing as the Constructor class. You can set up Anti Vehicle and Anti Personnel Turrets as well as set mines which will help a lot. You don't need to be aggressive to successfully defend - in fact, you want to hold back and let your AI teammates do most of the work. You want to stay near your objective lying in wait for any GDF that get through your team and make it to you.

Below are quick tips for each mission followed by a video to lend visual aid.

Refinery: Your first objective is to stop an MCP. Set up an Anti Vehicle Turret at the fork in the road and drop a couple mines in the direction it's coming from. When it comes around the corner chuck some grenades at it to help it go down easier. Once it is disabled place your mines on the MCP on the sides the enemy will be attacking from.

If you fail to stop the MCP then place an Anti Personnel Turret next to your new objective and proceed to capture the spawn point (marked with a flag) and hold down the spawn point so the GDF can't capture it. Your AI teammates will do the rest, just don't let the enemy get that spawn.


Slipgate: Place an Anti Personnel Turret at the road next to the objective. Place mines on the two control panels furthest from your spawn. Watch the objective and replace mines as needed.

If you fail to protect the Slipgate they will send an MCP. Place an Anti Vehicle Turret along the road between the Slipgate and their spawn and 2 mines in the middle of the road. Stop the MCP on its approach. Chuck some grenades at it to help it go down easier. Once it is disabled place your mines on the MCP on the sides the enemy will be attacking from.


Island: Set up an Anti Vehicle Turret before you enter the bunker on the off chance it does anything while you're busy in there. Plant 2 mines in the doorway inside right next to the generator you're defending. Guard that doorway and plant more mines as necessary.

Should you fail to protect your first two objectives place an Anti Personnel Turret at the top of the stairs right next to your objective. If an AI teammate has already placed one there then place one at the bottom of the stairs. Plant mines inside the room where your objective marker is and on the doorway of that room. Defend the room, repair your turret, and plant more mines as necessary.
