This is missable.

During the final mission of the Waterborne campaign (Lord of the Pearl - When you're getting attacked by Captain Plant) you'll have the option to sell the Black Pearl. Don't sell it!!!!

Also in this mission you don't need to worry about completing the tasks. Just concentrate on keeping your island happy and building up your army so that you can defeat Captain Plant when the timer runs out and you should unlock this achievement with the below 2 all at the same time.
