Things that worked well:

- Grenades! Grenades and pipe bombs work the best in my opinion. Throw a grenade at a horde, into an infestation house, or my personal favorite, the Danger Zone and they work great. Or throw a flare/firework first and then a grenade.
- Propane tanks. Just throw a flare/firework, get the zombies to gather, shoot, and get some kills. I found that sometimes tanks were hard to find near mass populations of zombies since I usually build bases at gas stations. Probably would work better for you in Lifeline.
- Jimbo LaFleur said, "Grenade Launcher works perfectly. I did the challenge yesterday in Lifeline, defending my base during a siege."

Things that DID NOT work well:

- Whistling Box Mine. Whistling Box Mines seemed really glitchy. Sometimes they'd gather a bunch of zombies and blow up. Other times the zombies would glitch out after they got to the mine and run away. Other times the mine would whistle and the zombies would just continue walking like normal. I would recommend not using these.
- Drone Strike, Artillery Barrage, and Incendiary Barrage. For some reason they don't count as explosives.
- Firebombs or any other type of moltovs don't work.
- Incendiary Shotgun shells don't work.

Happy hunting and happy 4th! :D

TL:DR - Update with quick strategy - I just started Lifeline up; went and raided the locker for the grenade launcher, ammo, and grenades; and went to the Danger Zone North-westish of the base (behind the big sliding fence gate). I tried to kill as many around the fence as possible. If they stopped spawning I would run around inside the area until I either ran out of ammo or died. Then I would just start a new game of Lifeline and repeat. I got it in about 15 minutes using this method.
