  Everybody is saying its unobtainable... It's not, just 100% luck i did over 150 drafts probably... My team screenshot in this post.

  Can also attest to getting an 87 rated team on my first draft... definitely easier than originally it seems

  Yeah it was EXTREMELY difficult getting this when the game came out. There wasn't a lot of newer cards and therefore was totally based on luck at the time

  Can confirm, years later, this is very easy. Got 86 first try.

  If the overall calculator in Madden 17 is the same as last year's (which experience tells me it is) then the following positions are the only ones that count towards your overall.
  
  Quarterback
  Half Back
  First two Wide Receivers
  All five Offensive Linemen
  First Tight End
  
  First two Cornerbacks
  Free Safety
  Strong Safety
  Left Outside Linebacker
  Right Outside Linebacker
  First Middle Linebacker
  Left End
  Right End
  First Defensive Tackle
  
  From all my play time this is literally all that matters for overall, nothing else impacts it but the overall numbers of the guys at these positions.
  
  Since you can have two receivers and two corners, naturally drafting them earlier leaves you with the option to draft a second later on, should you get stuck with a dud round.

  As of the latest update on 2/11/17, this achievement is now very easy. Almost every round you get an elite player, also your team now starts off as 78 overall. I got an 86 and an 87 overall on my first few attempts on drafting. I'm not sure if this is a limited time thing, but I doubt it. So have fun getting the now very easy achievement!

  Agree, same thing happend last year - in an update a few weeks after Super Bowl, this achievement went from almost impossible to real easy. Logged on today and got 87 overall on first try, so watch this ratio drop from 3.01 real fast. I'll never try this in september ever again, its just a waste of time.
