How to unlock the Power Play achievement

EDIT 9/30/16:As of the most recent patch, having Gage as your partner when you start the quest will no longer be an issue and prevent you from completing the quest.

After completing "Home Sweet Home" and assigning raider outposts, there will now be one gang that gets upset and barricades themselves in the Nuka Power Plant. You are tasked with removing them.

You can either kill them or talk them out, it doesn't matter either way. After you are done you simply need to restore power to Nuka World and the achievement will pop.

aj vanzettiI've finished Home Sweet Home but this quest won't pop up. I've set eight outposts and got that unlocked, but no love from Shank. Any ideas?

aj vanzettiI have sent him to several outposts trying to get him to give the quest. I'm just going to back up to an od save and start over.

cnirvanaIt should be noted that there is a confirmed glitch which will cause this quest not to trigger in the current version of the game (v 1.7.12.0.1).

This quest should auto-start immediately after finishing Home Sweet Home (creating the 3rd outpost). You do not have to visit Shank, nor does it matter if you sent Shank to an outpost instead of keeping him at Nuka-World. I do not believe you can send him back to Nuka-World after you send him to an outpost anyways. You get the notification for Home Sweet Home finished, and immediately Power Play starts.

The glitch (which I can confirm for myself) has to do with certain companions being with you. I had Gage with me. Once you hit this trigger (completing outpost 3 to end Home Sweet Home) it seems impossible at this time to get Power Play to start even after dismissing your companion.

If you are effected by this glitch you need to reload a save prior to completing your 3rd outpost, dismiss your companion, and THEN complete the Home Sweet Home quest. Personally I dismissed prior to completing outpost 2 so Gage was nowhere around when I completed the 3rd one.

I'm just putting this as a comment instead of a solution because I am sure they will release a patch soon to fix this.

aj vanzettiThanks, cnirvana. I avoided having Gage as a companion and it worked like a charm.

TwistedsymphonyInteresting. I've had Gage as my companion through this whole DLC and was able to start Power Play no problem.

z RagnaroK zJust got this one unlocked. I had an issue that I'd thought I would share in case anyone else runs into it. After turning in the Power Play quest, my achievement didn't pop. I double checked and made sure that the game had the quest marked as completed, it did. I replayed the mission from a previous save point and didn't fast travel. The first time I attempted it, I fast traveled direct to the power play and immediately started fighting gang members outside. Not sure if this screwed up how the quest progressed but the second time I walked over and went straight to the other two gang leaders before going to the power plant. As another precaution, I let any dialog play out and didn't skip any conversations just in case skipping over those caused the achievement to glitch. Hope this helps! Fallout 4 is not 100% for me :)
