Simple answer:
Kill the king while corrupted (rot level 5 or higher)

More detail:
First gain rot levels by purposely getting killed by banes or using spell/trickery cards that give you rot. When you fight another corrupted player or creature, you'll get an extra die for each rot level the lower level character has if you have a higher rot level than them. This means that if you can get a higher rot level than the king, you'll get an extra 7 or so dice when attacking him.

You must survive the fight with him. If you die killing him then it becomes a prestige victory for the prestige leader. So make sure to have a strong defense when you fight him.

Update: I finally earned it!
Did so as Brun. I built up 10 rot before attacking the king (he had healed once) who only had 9 rot. I completed all of the quests during the round so I didn't have to beat a peril to gain entry to the palace. The turn before entering, I gave myself 2 extra wit which meant more cards. Once I entered, I activated a shimmer shield which turned all of my extra cards into shields. I then burned all of those extra shield cards against the guards so they couldn't push me out of the palace. Against the king, I had 9 extra dice from his rot and beat him without burning any cards or quitting for a better fight outcome though doing so would have helped me beat him on that turn if necessary.

Note:
It's also worth noting that this game operates on a seed. That means that if you quit the game and then continue the events will play out the same. For example, if you draw two item cards at the beginning of your turn then quit and continue, you will draw the exact same two item cards again. Creatures will perform all of the same actions if you don't change yours. This means that you can reload a turn and try different options until you find an outcome that you like. This can be useful near the endgame when you're trying to get into the palace to kill the king and other creatures are doing things that prevent you from reaching that goal. You must quit before the end of the turn (before the day/night switch) or the events become permanent.

Things that DON'T change (Assuming you do nothing different):
Cards drawn from each type
Quest outcomes (Though the positions changed, I failed a 70% 5 times in a row)
Creature movement/actions
Prestige leader options/choices

Things that DO change:
Dice rolls in perils
Dice rolls in combat (unconfirmed)
