There are 28 total "monsters" in this game, but that figure doesn't reflect the additional 10 boss statues in the museum. Boss monsters do not count since you don't need to collect their auras. Therefore, this guide focuses solely on the other 28 monsters and adding them.

First some tips:
-Get a stronger bracelet: The 'S' ranks are impossible without the 6th/7th bracelet. Even then they are tough to get. You will likely need to attempt it multiple times before you get it. There is some amount of "luck" that decides how effective your taps are
-Use the monster finder costume. It's good to go to the museum to check what you're missing, but that really helps in discovering monsters. There are some glitches to this though that I will explain in the guide

On to the monsters. I will group them somewhat:

Spiders
1) Brown - Easily found in early sections of the game
2) Blue - Middle sections of the game (Otedo Forest especially)
3) Green - Later levels (near the Castle Fort - Level 8)
4) Gold - Valor Dungeon on Pia Island (after earning the final bracelet, the room where you fight the three demons now fills with Gold Spiders)

Braku (Bulls that charge you)
5) Green - Early Sections
6) Blue - Middle (Snowy Summit is pretty easy to find a few)
7) Red - Indigo Forest in the final dungeon. There are 3 right in the beginning

Crab
8) Gray - Early sections - The first room in the volcano has 2 that are easy to kill
9) Gold - Middle sections - The main hub room of the Snowy Summit dungeon actually has 2 that are easy to get at

Slimes
10)Red -Early sections
11) Blue - The desert tail large open area has a bunch of these in barrells
12) Tan - See above from the blue slime
13) Purple - Indigo Forest has a few of these right around the final dungeon as well as in the dungeon

Moks (little runny guys)
14) Green - Early sections
15) Red - Spread around, not too hard to find - Some of the later dungeons have a few

Fireflies
16) Tan - The cave to Pia Island has a lot
17) Blue - Indigo Forest and Pia Island both have quite a bit of these

Miscellaneous
18) Black Bats - The volcano cave has a lot in it
19) Dig Worms - The open area of the desert has quite a few digging around - You need to use dig to get them out of the ground
20) Candle Flames - This monster does not register with the monster costume. I would enter this room and the suit did not signal I was missing a monster. Not sure if it is a glitch. I used the Desert supplemental dungeon where there are four in one room to get this one.
21) Ghosts ('Girofy') - These ghosts seemed invinceable since you never had a weapon to kill them really. Turns out, you can use the energy spell to kill it. Early parts of the dungeon in the cape had a couple.
22) Birds - Found early in the game on main paths
23) Floating Eyeball - Numerous in Indigo Forest or the Desert special dungeon where you find the energy spell
24) Hole Monster - I found a really easy one to kill in Indigo forest in the area next to the Poison Flowers, but there are many locations you could find it. This monster also does not set off the monster costume.

Specials - These are all tied to achievements on their own, but count towards the aura achievements
25) Poison Flower
The poison flowers can be found in the Indigo Forest. Unlocking this aura will also earn you:
