    Actions
    Enter the Konami code at the main menu (where it has you choose what mode you're gonna play).

    Up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A


    If you enter the code too fast, it may just send you back to the press blah blah blah to start screen.


    If you want the achievement without using the code for some reason, 1999 Mode is unlocked after completing the game for the first time.

    Not that I blame you for not knowing, I just can't stand seeing that. Sorry for my rant on your solution lol.

    PangoBaraI know it was originally in Contra, but I thought it became known as the Konami code after they started using it everywhere...

    KatchPhrase420I'm not going to downvote because this has to be user error in some way, but for the life of me, I cannot get this to unlock at the main menu. No matter what I do, it boots me to the "press A to start" screen every time. I know it works, I did it on the 360 the day it came out. Oh well, guess I'll have to wait until after I finish the campaign. +1

    risselessYou can actually do this too slowly as well. I was slow and methodically and it kept popping back out to the main screen. Sped it up a bit and it worked.

    Tiny PanzaGameStop didn't even exist when the Konami Code first appeared... the first use of the code was in Gradius, not Contra...

    Not that I blame you for not knowing, I just can't stand seeing that. Sorry for my rant on your solution lol.
