How to unlock the Welcome to Your Horizon achievement

    This happens at the end of the game opener.

    You initially start out in a street race, driving a Lamborghini Centenario. You will switch mid-race to an off-road sequence that ends up on the beach at the twelve apostles before switching to a cinematic ending. Though these first segments feel like races, it really doesn't matter if you take your time in getting to your destination. Ultimately, you will end up at the Byron Bay Horizon festival.

    Once you arrive at the festival grounds, you'll be given an opportunity to choose an avatar for the game, then you'll immediately segue into your first showcase. In this showcase, you will need to race your dune buggy against a jeep being airlifted by a helicopter (seems fair, right?).

    At the very end of the race, the helicopter is dropped off just before the finish line. You just need to finish the race at this point. Win or lose, the achievement unlocks at the end of the showcase.

    Maverick HiroWtf! This one didn't unlock for me. Been playing for 30+ hours and i just realized this achievement is locked. Is there any way for me to get it without erasing my save file??

    Nautius MaximusWhat I've done in similar situations is not to erase my save file, but store it off elsewhere, then create a new one (I did this with Horizon 1). However, with XBOne's cloud save model, I'm not sure off the cuff if this is a valid option or how the mechanics would work.

    el p1nkoI also had this locked despite being well into the game. I tried just doing the first showcase again and this worked fine, the achievement unlocked after that. So just fyi for people who are in the same situation, no need to mess with the save file, just do the showcase again.
