This achievement is far easier than it seems. The key is to get the weight as close down to 2500kg without going below and adding gobs of power. To kill two birds with one stone, I suggest using the 2017 Ford Raptor. I made what I think is the perfect tune for it. The name of the tune is "Throwing Weight" and the description says "Throw Your Weight Achievement." You can also search for it using my gamertag. I highly suggest doing the Silver Sands Drift Zone because it is by far the easiest one. I managed 40,000 score on my first try and I'm sure you can get far more.
    I hope I helped :)

EDIT: NE0182 made an awesome video and asked me to share it. It's super helpful and details everything. He has a a lot of other good achievement video guides on his channel, so you should definitely check him out. Here is a link to his profile: NE0182

thomaskoratYeah traction and stability control off, and enter the Silver Sands drift zone driftingly. Took 25+ tries with my poor drifting skills.

Johnny Fl3xThis would be a piece of cake if it wasn't for the traffic. I'm always running into cars in these drift zones

ZeBeDee32Reservoir drift zone worked best for me, failed at others I tried, but got it second attempt at Reservoir (southern tip of the big lake)

Car: 2013 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Shelby
    Tune Creator: Maka91
    Tune Name: 2500kg Drifter

Grab the above car with the above tune and go to the Outback and attempt the Outback Trail Drift Zone. The achievement should be attempted from the direction that is further from the outback festival hub as you can gain much more speed; which is key. Points are rewarded for speed and angle, so focus on those and carrying your speed through the entire drift. Using this build, I was personally able to consistently get 60,000 points for the required 45,000 point goal. The car is also designed to be consistent and stable, so new players and non-drift experts should be able to easily attain this using the above car and build.

NZT21The achievement tracker for this achievement is weird. It was at 100% but did not unlock, I'm not sure what caused this. I did not knowingly attempt the achievement, but I was driving around with a very heavy car. I tried it with the tune in this video and it worked fine, thanks.

What do you need for drifting? Not a heck of a lot of credits, no fast cars. moderate persistence, skill chaining preferable, speed on some zones versus none at all on others, 2 vehicles maybe a 3rd if you can't chain and that's about it. Oh and you can go to my tag and download the proper drift setup thats been tweaked to death just to save buying and building another vehicle.

Now for this achievement i'm going to even give you the zone and how to crank the reward. Not many people bother with the detail that's why you can do this so very easily.

    Vehicle: BMW X5 M weight: 2502kg power 607KW displacement 5000 front 51% S1 869

When setting up a drift car you need to test the displacement carefully because it determines offset and weight distribution on clean chaining skills not in cornering but maintaining the duration of the drift which equals reward.

    Stats for BMW X5 M.

    Tires: Front 3.8 Rear 3.8
    Gearing: Final Drive 5.33 1st:3.23 2nd:2.09 3rd:1.57 4th:1.27 5th:1.09 6th:0.97
Alignment: Camber: Front +0.3 Rear +1.0 Toe: Front -0.4 Rear +0.8 Angle: 7.0
    Anti-Roll: Front 45.82 Rear 49.01
Springs: Springs: Front 291.0 Rear 345.8 Ride Height: Front 17.6 Rear 17.6 (offroad set)
Damping: Rebound Stiffness: Front 12.1 Rear 13.7 Bump Stiffness: Front 4.o Rear 4.5
    Aero: Front 29 Rear 34
    Brake: Balance 42% Pressure 200%
    Differential:
    Front: Acceleration 50% Deceleration 0%
    Rear: Acceleration 75% Deceleration 0%
    Center: Balance 61%

In SETTINGS (for this game) make changes to DIFFICULTY as this is very important for drifting anywhere in the game.
DIFFICULTY: Traction Control OFF, Assisted Braking and ABS OFF, Stability Control OFF. Drivatar Difficulty ANY, Damage COSMETIC, Steering NORMAL, Shifting - Your Choice - I tested this with Automatic and got a score of approx 28,000 Points for the zone below. Driving Line FULL - why- because seeing the trajectory is easier than trying to figure it out on the fly. Rewind - OFF or ON it's not important because drifting needs to have the car positioned on the right point and rewinding is only useful if you can correct this from a previous point on or close to the trajectory line.

Drift Location: SILVER SANDS DRIFT ZONE: 3 Stars = 25,000 Points

To make this real easy you are going to drive the course in a clockwise direction - The reason behind this is because the last corner in clockwise can be chained across the finish line and the cornering is far more efficient in the clockwise direction. You should get a score of around 31,000 points but it it is truly a give away here if you use these stats. Note: instead of starting on the road you can take a detour onto the clearing at the left behind the Blueprint Car and make a faster entry into the first corner but that is not so easy. The essence of good drifting is to be triggering the accelerator not constant pressure but to rev and hold the wheel spin to higher torque and offset the front steering (reverse direction) - e.g. if making a left turn in to a drift you turn in and start the handbrake on the offset of weight distribution to the outside wheels and then turn the steering lock from left (normal driving) to the opposite right to maintain the drift offset whilst triggering the accelerator Rb and tap the handbrake 'A' intermittently to maintain the direction of the drift. This is the proper way to keep the vehicle balanced for a longer drift that can then be chained to the opposite lock. The second sequence of the drift will have the car facing into the apex of the corner but you are looking at the road about 10-15 feet in front of the where you want the car to go. This is very quick but in order to balance a change in direction for chain drifting you have to predict where the car will best gain opposite lock without losing the line of trajectory through the course.

One other little thing - local cars can be a headache in these challenges but if you do the challenges at night there's less activity and another small mention that I've observed is to follow after a group of racers on the track as they seem to disperse traffic efficiently and you are no likely to run into them.

Practice what i'm telling you because this is how you drift properly and get exceptional point scores and these achievements aren't too hard to get. For the 3 points on all challenges I will note which vehicles I used to complete that achievement and you can go find my tag in the tune setup to get the right mix for making life more pleasurable.

The only time you will use Brake Lt is when you need to stop. It is pretty much useless fr drifting but some people have unbalance offsets where they compensate opposite lock to throw the car into a turn. The car should not ever be thrown! It's a matter of bringing the car into offset at the right point and at speed to maintain the correct trajectory. You want the car to maintain speed not kill it by throwing the vehicle around erratically which is why you have to balance the displacement correctly.
