Aside from the combat challenges, a very good and easy spot to get this achievement is pretty early on in the Story. When you come to the part in which you have to save the doctors in the medical facility, go to Dr. Chen. When you approach him a cutscene will start and goons start to attack you. Just keep a clean slate in this fight and you will get around a 50+combo.
Why this is a good spot to get this achievement is simple: it is pretty early in the game. There won't be any special enemies, everything you have to do is punch, jump, punch, counter, punch .... and so on and so forth.

If you want to do this in a combat challenge, please refer to the video below.

    Hope this helps you guys.

In the extra content, the first map that has infinite punctuation, is the best and easiest to do. I recommend playing the campaign until you have all the combat enhancements to get easier.

You can follow my video tutorial.

ScribblesJawsDo this before multiple insane inmates start spawning. The easiest way to get this is to initiate a critical hit chain.

If you don't know how to consistently get crits, here is an explanation given by user aranasaurus on Stackexchange:

"You do nothing special to hit a critical, a critical hit is just a hit. There is one condition that makes a hit critical - you should NOT attempt any other actions between this hit and the previous hit. So, if you managed to chain a 20 criticals (which is not that difficult once you get the hang of it), you pressed the hit button 20 times during this time and nothing else.

The usual way to lose a critical is to try executing next hit before animation for previous one finishes. Tip: try to aim at the guy that is furthest from you, dashing from one part of the room to another and back. This spaces your attacks and makes it easier to get the feel."

I had so much trouble with this Achievement before reading that^ because I have a tendency to button mash, which means I rarely got any critical hits. Good luck.

2020 solution for those who are struggling with combat and the counter system like me. Go to the sewers challenge and spam A then X which allows you to jump over an enemy and hit them once. Keep on doing this as it allows you to dodge an enemy while adding one hit to your combos. You do not want to use the special techniques as that will kill the enemies. It will take a long time to reach 40 combos but this is the best way I found if you couldn't counter and kept getting hit.

Zarda1I was going to see if someone had posted this. The easiest way to fight in the game is just wait to counter then start to AA over enemies and sprinkle in some X when you have the chance.
