This is a main story mission that follows "The Ginyu Force Strikes" and precedes "Android Warfare" or "A Desperate Future".
It is the end of the Frieza Saga.

This is generally acknowledged as a huge difficulty spike and a disruption of pacing.

You'll want to ideally be at least level 20 before trying this, if not a little higher, but it can be done earlier. Also make sure you've assigned your attribute points by going to "Customize", then "Boost Attributes".

Before heading into battle, you'll want to equip health potions just in case by pressing cn_start, then "Customize", then "Change Battle Items". Energy Capsule M may be most useful as you won't have long to use it in a pinch or Energy Regen.

You'll also want to equip a few particular skills, as detailed in the video.
My skill set that I used (only those listed as key moves are required):
Super Attack cn_RT+cn_Y - Meteor Crash
Super Attack cn_RT+cn_X - Kamehameha
Super Attack cn_RT+cn_B - Super Dragon Fist
Super Attack cn_RT+cn_Y - Energy Charge *** important move
Ultimate Attack cn_LT+cn_RT+cn_Y - Full Power Energy Blast Volley *** important move
Ultimate Attack cn_LT+cn_RT+cn_X - Giant Storm *** important move (see below)
Awoken Skill cn_LT+cn_RT+cn_B - none
Evasive Skill cn_LT+cn_RT+cn_A - Instant Rise, or your preferred.

Giant Storm can be bought in the skill shop, and is quite a useful ability in general, but you can certainly get away with just using Full Power Energy Blast Volley. It can also apparently be earned through "Saibamen's Revenge", a 1-star difficulty Parallel Quest.

The Battle:
Up until the final battle, it will be business as usual.
Once you get to Frieza and Cooler though, you may find you have some trouble without a proper tactic.

It is outlined best in the video below, but basically the idea is do not take damage in the easier initial scripted part until they power up. Now, after the cutscene, lock on to whoever Goku is not fighting. Start a combo, knocking them back, and use Giant Storm or Blast Volley here to inflict massive damage.

If the enemy starts a combo on you, press cn_A to vanish and then press cn_LT+cn_LSd to back dash quickly ( I found that two quick vanishes often worked better than one). If the enemy vanishes, immediately back hit. If at any point you find yourself low on health (sooner better than later), try to hold cn_LT to dash and retreat to use a health potion. Likewise if you need more Ki, you can use your charge skill.

I initially was somewhat frustrated with this battle, like many people, but after learning of these preparations and tactics it was a breeze. Cheers and happy hunting!

Here is a very helpful video to refer to that helped me, courtesy of youtube member Thundershot69.

Also, note that you will unlock flying in Conton City after this mission, and thus can unlock:
