The mission Hack teh World is found late in the game. It begins with you meeting up with Ray on the beach.

    *Spoilers Below*

    Drop Ray Off

Drive ray to the house and...drop him off.
This part of the mission is pretty much impossible to fail, save for blowing up the car.

Plant an Exploit in the Satellite

After a little more driving around, you will learn that the first part of the mission has you hacking a Satellite before it launches.
Drive to the building, and try to enter. This will trigger a very simple and brief hacking minigame. If you need better vision, simply use your aerial drone to more easily hack the nodes.

Once the minigame is complete, enter the building. You'll quickly notice that the path you need to take is blocked by lasers and a guard. Distract the guard by hacking his phone, then hack the laser grid to shut it off. Quickly slip past the guard and go up the stairs on the right.

Follow the path until you end up inside the production building where the are building the satellite. This might look like it's going to be complicated, but don't worry! There is a very easy solution to this mission.

In the middle of the room, hanging from the ceiling is a large white container. Take control of it and move it over to you, lowering it in such a way that you can climb on top of it.

Once you're on top safely, raise the container up a few feet, then ride it all the way across to the other side of the room. Once over there, head towards the objective. There will be a laser grid, so disable it, then just around the next corner, look on the ground for a vent. This will let you get the Jumper drone into the room to open the doors.

Once the doors are open, go in, trigger the brief cutscene, then exit the room. Head back to that crate you rode on. Climb back on top, then ride it all the way back to where you started. Raise it up really high so you can gain access to the walkway, then hop off and interact with the panel on the side of the rocket so that you can place your custom motherboard into it.

Once this is done, simply use the stairs to climb down a few floors, and exit the area the same way you came in!

    Wait for the Launch

This part of the mission literally requires you to wait. You need to let several hours pass in the game, so do some side missions or collect items. Eventually, you will get a message saying the next part of the mission is ready.

Once things are ready, head to the Hackerspace and watch the cutscene.

    Invade Blume's Data Center

After the cutscene, you will be hacking satellites. Jump between the satellites until you can hack into Dublin.

You will now be accessing cameras in a hallway. Go into the far camera and turn right to see an alarm. Hack it so that it goes off, then switch to the other camera and wait. One person will leave, while the other eventually goes on her phone. When she does, you'll be able to hack her phone and get Access Keys. With these, hack the computer in the office to finish the Dublin hack.

Once you are back to the globe, switch between the satellites until you can hack Dubai. Before you can do anything, you need to wait for two men to enter the server room. Once they do, the computer tower in the smaller room becomes hackable. Hack into it to get the Access Keys, then switch over to the server room. Hack into every Red server you can to finish the Dubai section.

The next hack is in Seoul. Again, wait for a little bit, until several of the small computer towers turn Blue in your hacker vision. Once this does, begin hacking them, but pay attention to the huge monitor on the wall. You will notice as you hack PCs, that the blue lines on the monitor turn red. Your goal is to hack only the PCs that help turn things red. Switch between the various computers until you've turned the entire picture red and you'll be done this mission segment.

Back on the world view, hack into Delaware. Activate the first drone, then use that to activate the second. Use the second drone to fly towards the objective. Once there, hack the camera, then try activating the console. This will trigger a hacking minigame, so switch back to your drone.

This make look daunting, but this entire puzzle is very simple. Take the drone and fly all the way to the back of the room. Start solving the minigame by doing one tower, then the next. You will quickly see that, although there are a lot of points to hack, there is little challenge in lining them up.

Once everything is lined up, hack into the camera and activate the computer again. This will trigger a cutscene, and the mission will end!

I'd like to post a potential Solution in regard to this Achievement as this one glitched for me. After doing some research, it turns out a few Achievements on the game have glitched for many other people.

I can't take any credit for the steps below, that goes to Killersquirelz. I recommend you try this if you do find yourself with a glitched 'Joined the Mile High Club' Achievement. These steps may also work for other glitched storyline Achievements however I can not confirm that.

    1. Firstly, disconnect your console from the Internet. Home button < Settings < Network < Network Settings < Go offline.

    2. Do a hard reset, I usually leave it around 30 seconds (probably not necessary)

    3. Load the game back up and continue with your game.

    4. Once ready, navigate to the DedSec App on your phone and then to the replay section. Proceed to replay 'Hack Teh World'.

    5. Now, you will see 4 parts which you can navigate with LB & RB. Choose the final partof this Operation first (where you are jumping between Satellite's and hacking facilities around the globe)

    6. Once completed, follow step 4 but this time, choose to play part 1 (you will be driving Ray to a destination)

    7. Once done, follow step 4 again but this time replay part 2 (you will be infiltrating the Galilie facility, see the guide above for a nice simple walkthrough of the mission)

    8. Final step - once done the above, follow step 1 and go back online. Achievement should pop within about 20 - 30 seconds.

I hope this helps, I can't confirm that this is a solid solution, however It worked for me when I was about to give up on the game!

Please do leave feedback whether it had worked or not, the more confirmation of this; will help others in the future.

Law ViolationTry it both ways and let me know - i can update the solution. Been quite sometime since i played this. If i recall, i don't believe you do need to quit oit of the game. Like mentioned, it's not a solid solution, but a potential one which worked for me.

SaknussemmOceanWell, I finally managed to barely squeeze out a 100% on this one (not the DLC, I don't have that), but I frankly don't have any good answer on what worked and what didn't, but I want to write down my experience here just in case anyone else is having the same problem.

For the story based achievements I just ended up starting over. I was going to have to do that anyway for some of the other achievements that never popped, like Smooth Felon, where you're supposed to escape a 5 star felony (This was one of the first ones that popped for me in my second playthrough, despite having already escaped dozens of 5 star felonies in my first and it never popping.). I deleted both the cloud and local save, and started the whole thing again from scratch, this time setting the difficulty to easy, turning off all the online stuff to prevent anyone from joining or interfering in my game, and just mainlining the main story as fast as I could, skipping cut scenes, not really bothering with upgrades until a particularly skill was useful. On easy, and when you know what you're doing, you can pretty much run through the whole thing meleeing everybody, and it really didn't take me that long to get up to the starting point of this mission. Before doing that, I hard quit the game to create a synched cloud and local save, so that I might have something to go back to in case something didn't work, took the console offline, started the game again, and played through all the "Hack teh World" mission while offline. When I was done with that I ran around for a little bit just to make sure that there was an autosave, quit to the in-game menu, and then shut the game down from Xbox Home. Turned the internet back on and the "Joined the Mile High Club" achievement popped almost immediately.

I was like, "Ok, this is great. This is just going to be smooth sailing from now on. I only just need to do this same thing for the final mission, and I can get the other story achievement that never popped for me." So I got all the way up to the final mission, the one that gives you a warning that this is the last mission of the game. Did all the stuff I did before, creating a cloud save, taking the console offline, etc. But the problem with this mission is that there is a very severe, game-breaking bug in it. And I suspect that the workaround to this bug may be the very thing that caused this not to pop in the first place. This is at the sequence where you play as Wrench, where you're basically given a full arsenal and unlimited ammo and kind of encouraged to grenade launcher everything. You eventually work your way to the basement and blow up 4 backup generators. At the end of this sequence you're supposed to switch over to Marcus in front of the Blume headquarters. But a glitch in the game causes the Wrench sequence to just reload again and you're stuck in an endless loop of replaying the Wrench sequence over and over. This is a known problem. There are lots of Reddit threads about it. And the only solution I found was that if you quit to the Home menu while the Marcus sequence is loading and wait a minute or two, then go back to the game, the Marcus sequence will continue properly. And this works! But I suspect it might be the thing causing the achievement not to pop. That transition from Wrench to Marcus having to be kind of "skipped" causing the mission not to be registered as fully completed.

Anyway, when I got to this part for my second playthrough I was hoping that I wouldn't even run into this problem again, that the bug wouldn't happen to me this time, but it sure enough did. I tried a few different things to try to make it not happen, even played fully stealth through the whole Wrench sequence, so as not to trigger any kind of wanted level, and that still didn't work either; so the old Home menu trick it was, and sure enough, when it was all done, beat the game, quit, and I took the console back online again, NO ACHIEVEMENT. Ok, not to worry, I have an older save in the cloud. I can delete the local save and force the game to retrieve that one and I'll be back at the point I was before starting the mission and I can try again. But that didn't work for some reason. Even though I had only been playing the game offline, and only going online after shutting the game down, the older cloud save I loaded just set me right at the same spot my local save had been, AFTER finishing the final mission. I suspect that might have something to do with the way the Ubisoft Connect App works that's connected to the game. I had never bothered deleting that and I wonder if my game progress was also being kept in there (The Ubisoft Connect App is also what I suspect might be breaking a lot of these achievements because almost all of its functionality doesn't even work). Anyway, there was no way now to play the final mission again fresh without starting the whole thing over AGAIN. My only option was the replay section, but I had already used replay to do that mission again several times in my first playthrough and that never worked, and I always ran into the looping Wrench bug every single time.

But I did play it again, and this time I did one little thing that I think might have made the difference. When the Wrench sequence started looping and I brought up the Home menu to make the Marcus sequence load properly, after closing the Home menu and starting the Marcus sequence, I immediately hit start and reloaded the latest checkpoint. Then beat the game like normal after that. My suspicion is that sitting in the Home menu while loading that section, even though it was fixing the bug and allowing me to continue the game, it was causing that checkpoint to not be properly flagged as fully completed. But reloading that checkpoint fixed this? I have no way of knowing this, of course. And, in fact, even after doing this, the achievement still never popped. I had completely resigned myself to the fact that I was never going to get this achievement. Anyone looking at my account would see that I had decided to get every single achievement in the game but just not bother to beat it for some reason? That seems like a weird thing to do! I did truly just give up, and quit and uninstalled the thing and moved on to something else for the day, and then, in the middle of playing that other thing, the achievement popped. I thought it was for the game I was playing at first, but then I realized it was for Watch Dogs 2. It finally just popped. And I have no idea what caused it. As far as I know, none of the things I did ever even mattered and I got the achievement the very first time I beat the game, it just took a few days for it to register.

Sorry to put this long spiel in your comments section, but I just had to unload my frustrations with this G#%D&$#*%! game somewhere, and hopefully there's at least a kernel of an idea of a start to a hint of a solution that can maybe help someone someday in the future.

IanFassyThis is the fifth STORY achievement that glitched for me and this solution didn’t work as it didn’t with any of the other 4. I’m having to start the game over for a fifth time. For those that are thinking of starting this game, don’t. It completely ruined the experience and I will probably never touch a watch dogs game ever again as it happened to me with both.
