You obtain 'Thief Looting' from completing the 2nd set of Thief Challenges.

40 Leaps of Faith (you can just keep climbing the same tower over and over)
*According to the comment below by napoearth you can jump off of a smaller building into a haystack and it should count this.
Climb 1km (should be unlocked while completing 40 Leaps)
Counter-Steal X amount of times (Counter-Steal is instead of hitting X to counter, you hit Y and you steal from the guard/opponent)

After you have obtained Thief Looting, hire a group of thieves then, you just go around killing guards. Make sure to stand there and wait until your thieves loot the guards, don't loot them yourself.

It may seem obvious, but you may want to mention that you need to have hired a thief group prior to running around and killing guards for this to work.

Thumbs up, I would also recommend using this opportunity to call assassins for that faction challenge while one is doing this, if one still needs it.

Thank you for explaining how to do a Counter-Steal, I haven't seen any tutorials in the game about that yet............and as a second thought, for the 40 Leaps of Faith, heck, I just found a two story building next to a haystack, and grinded that for the last 10 I needed..........takes a lot less time to climb that then to climb a 6 or 7 story tower over and over again, lol

had most of it done by just doing other quests/achievements. did the same thing as warboy on the 2 story building thing. dont use poison bombs to kill the enemy you want to loot. my thieves wouldnt loot the bodies for some reason. the suggestion to use your assassins is good even if youve already done all the faction challenges. thanks for the heads up, i thought this was just loot 50 bodies at first until i got my 50 kil achieve and realized this one hadnt popped. plus one

If you're just walking around fighting guards, I recommend using your Assassin's, that way you're not raising your Infamy all the time

To anyone else who has trouble having this pop like me, what I had to do was re run the game untill I got the ability to complete the faction challenges for the thieves and re ran killing guards and having them loot their dead bodies, after about 30 I saw one of my thief’s loot a civilian body I accidentally killed and the achivo popped lol. I had killed and looted 100’s of guards before this and thats what got mine to pop, hopefully it helps you out as well

Reply @Crims0nScorpion : Infamy is only open to Templars, the enemies in the game world are almost only Byzantine soldiers, so don't worry too much about infamy.

It feels like I have done way more than 50 but this achievement still hasn’t popped.

This achievement glitched for me and it wasn't popping after I got my thieves to loot dead bodies about 500+ times.
You HAVE to delete the save file, from everywhere, for the whole game (it's one save file for all three games AC2, ACB & ACR). It's best if you play through all three games unlocking all the achievements you can get, and then if it does glitch, you then know which games have to play again for achievements.

I had no other options left to try, and I was at a point I was ready to delete. I deleted the save, started a brand new game and did all the main missions until you cross the river and recruit a new trainee to be an Assassin (the guy locked in a cage and you need to pick pocket a key). I did this mission then head to the Thieves hideout, did their guild mission and started working on the Challenges for tier 2 of the Thieves.
After unlocking the ability from the Thieves Challenges, I started killing guards and let the Thieves loot. It unlocked.

If you've ever had the game freeze/crash where it's making a horrible noise and then the game closes down... this is probably what is causing achievements to glitch, and I think this happens because to much is happening on screen at once.
You make progress, the game auto saves & gets updated but then crashes and the servers haven't been updated with the new progress. So then the game is saying mission/fragment/synchronisation/whatever has been done but the servers didnt get updated due to the crash and it's not counted properly. That's my theory and I've read other gamers think that's what is happening as well.

Unlock as many achievements as you can, delete the save file when you're ready and play through until you can work on the achievements that glitched for you.
