Everytime you start up the game there is a new chance for an VIP to show up.
In case there is no VIP, just close the game and start it up again.
Rinse and repeat.
Difficulty doesn't matter.

Just to add, scroll through all the levels, underneath it will say on one of the levels that there is a VIP in that level. If nothing is there do as OP said. :)

I had a VIP turn up once and then had no more appear despite numerous restarts. Interestingly I had gotten the achievement for 100 medals but had not used level 9 at all.. So I decided to try level 9 as part of my grind for 500K stars and got 2 stars. I restarted the game and a VIP turned up on level 9.. so this may be a coincidence but maybe something consider..

after i got the 100 medals i worked on this. I got the VIPs with a 50% chance.

yeah I too had an increase in VIP's (using the dashboard/quit method) once I'd had a succesful medalrun🏅🏃‍♀️ through Stage.9 🛩💥☠ not sure you need to get a medal though ... also my achievement popped as soon as I picked up the 5th VIP so, unlike the cards, I don't think you have to make it through the stage for the VIP to count of course someone would need to track their progress to confirm this, Good Luck 🍀

Thanks for the guide. Had almost everything else done without ever seeing a VIP. I did a run through level 9 as others suggested, though I didn't try doing the quit out method before doing this so I can't really give any input on if it increases their chance of showing up.

I can, however, confirm what EverStoned77 hypothesized. You do NOT need to finish the level to get credit for the VIP. As soon as you pick him up you get progress on the achievement.

yeah I had 1 before doing level 9 too but after that they became extremely rare, the lvl 9 trick makes them appear more often, good luck 🍀

I only started getting VIPs after level 8 and have rescued 3 in the last 4 days. One per day.

Do you need to play on the hardest level to get them? It says vip in the menu but not sure if I can play on easy and still get them.

madmanmahrz AFAIR they are difficulty specific, meaning that if it shows on easy it might not show on hard but it's been a while so might remember it wrong
