Side quests are marked on your map with large orange question marks. They are pretty hard to miss. Just make sure you visit all the restaurants in the game and choose the gossip option so all the hot spots on your map are marked for you. Once you remove the fog of war from the map you can see the question marks if you haven't taken a quest yet. Just complete 80 of them and the achievement is yours.

Many of the side quests are follow up quests to other side quests as well. I know Lestallum has a lot of chain side quests.

Once you get far enough into the game you will get the option to use Umbra to travel to the past. You can use him by going to a bed to sleep in and choose Umbra instead of yes or no for the option to sleep. When in his menu, choose the top option to go back to the past and you can complete any quests that you haven't completed yet. This is also how you access the quest to find Adamantoise once you are far enough in the game. I went back after finishing chapter 13 and got the quest to find the turtle. You can probably get it sooner.

Exalted EntityHow can you get this achievement before chapter 6? I've done nearly all quests available and able to be completed and I don't have the achievement

STOUTASSASSIN67just so people know after you beat the game and go back to the past all side quests are reset, found it out the hard way.

CheshireMulishaIgnore Stoutassassin67, the quests don't reset. Going back to the past in chapter 15 and all my quest progress was exactly how I left it.

SyncTheTempestActually, I'm inclined to believe STOUTASSASSIN67 is right. I had about 60-65 sidequests done before I beat the main story. A lot of sidequests that I left incomplete and ones I had completed were no longer there. As in, hit Select > Quests > Completed, I didn't have any blue quests (sidequests) completed.

One thing I know I did for sure was the Formouth Valley Imperial Base to get the Strange Engine to upgrade the Regalia into the flying one. It's no longer in my inventory so now I have to go back and redo that one along with 80 more sidequests for the achievement.

Therefore, try to do the 80 sidequests before you complete the main story or rush through the main story and then complete the 80 sidequests.

DarrcyphfeidMy understanding is that using Chapter Select is the culprit, not finishing the game. Once you clear the game and save, you have to select load and proceed as normal. You should only use Chapter Select if you're missing too many items to complete the datalog achievement.

ClaytThaGreatDoes anyone know how many side quests are available altogether? Substantially more than eighty?

ClaytThaGreatAlso, what is the initial point of no return (before you are able to time travel)?

DarrcyphfeidThere are nearly 200 sidequests in the game, I believe. You can finish the achievement just doing the broken down cars, injured hunters and Prompto's photo-ops - there are maps showing where they're available online.

Taking the boat from Cape Caem to Altissa is roughly the point where the open world is closed off without the use of Umbra.

AtsumerI also got this before completing Chapter 3. Note that the Treasure Map (Scraps of Mystery) quests, Prompto Photo locations and helping out people in distress, i.e. people who are hurt (potion) or have had their car break down (repair kit), also counts as Side Quests.

I Am ChuunibyouI just got this achievement post game like the guide says.

Loaded my cleared save, used Umbra to travel to the past and resumed the side quests.

Did not use any chapter select.
