Update March 17, 2018
: No longer discontinued but still seems to be buggy according to reports, especially if you already had characters meeting the requirements before the most recent patch. Shoutout to AL1 in the comments section for the information!Update Feb 5, 2018
: Looks to be discontinued right now (thank you to CRUM LEE in the comments section for bringing it to my attention). No one has unlocked the achievement since Jan 17. I will update if that changes.Update
: Some people have been able to get around the glitch by leveling up one character from every class (damage, flank, support, front line) and are having success unlocking it. The achievement is still bugged: you should be able to get it leveling up whatever characters you want, and the devs have acknowledged it is bugged. But try the class method in the meantime if you haven't already unlocked it, though it does not seem to have a 100% success rate. Credit to ELECTRZx
in the comments.CAUTION
: This is not unlocking properly at the moment. I will update the solution if I hear anything about an official fix of the bug, and please feel free to comment if you have any info! Basically the issue is that randomly characters will not count toward it and will not update the in-game tracker (on the Awards menu). This glitch happened earlier in the alpha, seemed to be fixed, and now seems to be back in the beta. The Awards page is also glitchy; if it's not properly displaying for you, force close the game and then go back into the Awards page and it should work again.ALSO CAUTION
: According to multiple users, most of the recently-added characters are not counting toward this, even as far back as Torvald. Be hesitant when spending your time leveling a new character!
The official Paladins bug reporting forums are here
if you'd like to join the list of players reporting this or if you have any additional info for the developers. These are the same developers of SMITE who have always fixed the achievement bugs in that game so I have no doubt this will be fixed and I will do my best to keep you posted.
How do you increase your mastery level on a character? Simple... just play them! It takes about 1-2 hours to get a character to Mastery Level 5 without extra help and if you are winning an average amount of games. Also note, as of patch OB 67, you can now spend gold to level up characters
If you're going to play, there are ways to expedite the leveling process:Party Bonus
: 10% bonus champion XP for playing in a partyBooster
: 50% bonus XP if you have a booster (only purchasable with crystals, which you can get from login bonuses, crystal events or purchasing them with real money)Double XP events
: Just as it sounds, double your XP during valid event times. Keep an eye on Paladins social media or the front page here on TAWinning
: In case you're wondering why you are getting more or less XP, you get more XP for a win than a loss. Try to party up with friends or players you have a likely chance of winning with and this will go faster, and you'll also get the Party Boost
This is also the type of achievement where after getting my final character to mastery 5+, I had to play one more match and the achievement popped after that match. So don't freak out if it doesn't pop right away and play another match if need be.
